So what are the chances of ford fixing a problem like this if all you have is an EDIT and tune?

Very little chance...

Ford now have a way to detect if your PCM has been modified.

Your dealer can't check it, but the FoMoCo warranty inpectors that travel around checking out cars keep the equipment with them.

Or so I've been told...

I can confirm this is correct. Any changes to the PCM can now be detected on BA & BF

I still dont believe this.. there is a myriad of logging parameters that your tuner can turn of making it even harder to detect.

I was told this six months ago and I believe it to be true it is just they need to know what codes to look for.

There is a code that is logged that can not be cleared if they are looking they will find it.

SITREP

I am a Ford Tech going about my bussiness.

In strolls a bloke with cap on backwards, saying Fully Sic, the cruise at Maccas on Friday was great, hey dude check out my twenties.

Ford Tech looks across, and sees a ute with Gronk number plates. Up for a bit of a stir. He engages formentioned loud mouth in conversation.

Loud mouth then sprouts off on Forum how edit is so detectable.

"Hi gents, I'm Mr warranty Stooge, here to make a dodgy claim"

"Sir, you're whole ECU is missing!"

"So are you saying you can't prove that the car was edited??"

In the words of Borat, "Niiiiiiiiiice..."
