hey built2redline I'm almost in the exact some boat as you. Was running about 290rwkws and this happened:

</div></div></div>

I'm also weighing up my options but looks like a race prepped motor is the way to go.

I'm just hoping the head is okay....

:spoton: you dont do things by halves!! :nono:

No, you are dead right there. If you look closely at the photograph, nearly all the components are in quarters... or more....

So what are the chances of ford fixing a problem like this if all you have is an EDIT and tune?

Very little chance...

Ford now have a way to detect if your PCM has been modified.

Your dealer can't check it, but the FoMoCo warranty inpectors that travel around checking out cars keep the equipment with them.

Or so I've been told... :nono:

I can confirm this is correct. Any changes to the PCM can now be detected on BA & BF

hey all, I had a great weekend and after pampering my beast with its ritual weekend wash it rewarded me with this!

<div class='bbimg'><div class='bbimg'>

</div></div>

that's a hole in the block, just under the turbo.

<div class='bbimg'><div class='bbimg'>

</div></div>

and that's a crack in the sump, I havent dug any deeper than that and I dont think im willing to.

just wondering where to from here?

who to see what to do?

im in 2 minds at the moment

1. fix it up quick trade it in

2. build a crazy motor with at least 400rwkw. and ~1200nm torque

dunno as much as I love the car I just dont think it loves me.. or my wallet

SO WHO TUNED THE CAR BUILT2REDLINE ????? OR HAVE THE MODS EDITED ALL THAT!!!!!!!!

We haven't edited/deleted anything.

CV Performance tuned his car at one stage. Not sure if his current tune is by them though.

Anyway, he's not blaming the tuner.

Built2redline, I read a thread of yours that said they checked your car awhile ago before they tuned it and it was running lean and had burnt the plugs out.

How long ago or how many km's have you done since then?

The damage may of been done way back then.

So it's previously been running so lean it burnt the plugs... that's all we needed to hear

I wont ask who did the original lean tune.

If you've already been to CV for a tune, I'd say take it to them for the rebuild, they know their stuff.

If we are gunna name tuners it might be a good idea to let him say who is tuning his car,I know that C&V had tuned it but he told me another tuner had done the current tune he was using.. :nono:

I cant and wont say who tuned the car because im not in the business of giving someone a bad rep.

yes C&V had done some work to the car previously but after going back 3 times to fix a problem that I had told them about before editing the car, they jumped right in and tuned it and obviously didnt get the results. that was fine I took it to another tuner once the car had began to loose power, it was found that the cat had collapsed under the previous tune.. so the cat was replaced and the car retuned. the problem that I took the car into c&v had returned.

got the problem fixed and the car retuned.. this was 2 months ago.

so you see this is where I dunno which tuner to TRUST with the car. some tuners dont want to try and fix problems it seems, they just want a tune to run smoothly--- who doesnt right?
