very interesting re the bottom end for 2500... I think a lot of people can stop stressing out about mods to their engines now! :nono:

Lets see... short motor, 6sp manual and twin plate clutch might be on the cards depending on the lifespan of my car...

hey built2redline I'm almost in the exact some boat as you. Was running about 290rwkws and this happened:

I'm also weighing up my options but looks like a race prepped motor is the way to go.

I'm just hoping the head is okay....

:nono: you dont do things by halves!! :nono:

Do all BFs have a Typhoon bottom end or just more recent ones?

At the moment I beleive that they have different bottom ends that is what I was told today by ford.

thanks for the laugh XXXR6T, apparently I dont do it in halves ...I do it in lots of little pieces left behind my car hahaha

yeah I too am dreading whats left inside the motor!

So guys point me in the right direction, where do I start what do I do? get a short block from ford or.... what do yous reckon? I'm thinking of getting a strong motor built by autotech. I was given a quote from them a while back but that was on an exchange/rebuild basis, which obviously isn't going to work now....

I know a few guys who work at Ford Geelong where all the Barra’s are put together, and they say all BF XR6T & BF F6 have the same Conrods.

makes sense

SWEET not many differences between F6 & T6 now then
