I understand that with so many ppl running more power than this not having any problems you may feel robbed, but I still dont think its fords problem.. its obvious that all cars are made different because of the varied stock power figures we see, so once you push the stock parts further than ford intneded (past stock power) its your problem..

I think if you took that into ford youd have troubles anyway, they told me that they would be able to tell if I'd thrashed my gbox jus by lookin at it!! :nono:

I chatted to a few people today as im still trying to make up my mind.

atomic motors- 4600+gst and + fitting +a new sump = ~ 7000bucks if nothing else is fooked like valves or head

found a bare long motor, (no turbo, intake plenum, aircon, ps ect ect.) $2800 throw in a set of atomic rods or cappa rods~$1600, install new valve springs$350, 968s which I allready have =4000+ fitting spend the rest on exhaust, intercooler, dump pipe and tuning..

dunno what do you guys think??

I think something sounds wrong here; only 248kw for a custom tune. A bit on the low side. Is that with the 968's that you have? Did you see your afr's? Were you running 98 ron at the time?

Oh and dont forget to change your handle as it clearly isnt. Sorry - couldnt resist.

yep that's right 248 with 700nm torque, it wasnt with the 968s though I had them at home waiting to go in with an intercooler

EDIT: no I didnt see my afr's, and I allways run 98ron

If you needed to know what a bf rod and piston looks like, just take a look at the pic's. Its was my number 6 piston and rod.

So my advice do the billet rods and forged pistons now it will be a lot cheaper then later

So what are the chances of ford fixing a problem like this if all you have is an EDIT and tune?
