Morning all,

I've often heard it said that life begins at 30.... well I'm only 24 but I think life began for me at about 2.30pm on Friday afternoon. This car is awesome, there's really no other word for it.

I've done 1000kms and I just wanted to share a couple of things. The gearbox is magic - everyone says to go for the auto but I say the manual is great. If you are a manual driver but have been worried about the reviews offered about the manual gearbox then go ahead and order your manual. It's set in a *much* better position than the AU and it's quite a short shift.

Pedal positions have also changed and you can no longer heel and toe (no, not the barndance) which shouldn't really be of any concern to 90% of drivers out there. Maybe this can be changed with the power adjustable pedals? If anyone out there has a manual with the adj pedals then let me know.

Fuel consumption is much less than quoted. I'm currently running at 12.7L/100kms. And that's despite having some fun in a straight line every now and then (more "every" than "now and then").

Cheers

Hi Grant,

l agree with your thoughts. We went for the manual and picked it up on Saturday. One word, wicked!!

My only concern with the car is driveline lash, our car seems to have some slack in the driveline that makes it hard sometimes to change gears smoothly. Have you noticed this at all in your car? Maybe mine has a problem that needs looking at?

I haven't really noticed that, occasionally missing third gear and hitting the gate though. I just assumed that it was because I wasn't used to the box yet. Now that you've mentioned it I'll try to pay more attention and post some comments.

Hhmmm...maybe be there is something up with my car. l kind of hope there is, as its something l find annoying and it would be good to get rid of it.

Let me know if you do notice it, but if you havent so far then it cant be a problem with your car, having already done 1000km you would have felt it at some point.

I don't think drive train lash is a fault. All the reviewers picked it up as being something of a nuisance issue with the manual. that's why they promoted the auto.

I will (sometime next year (sigh!!)) will be sitting in traffic a lot so the auto it is.

Well l guess it comes down to how much is acceptable.

l think its significant, not enough to put me off the manual by a long shot, just more than l would have liked in a car where just about everything else is spot on.
