Just wait a moment...just a few weeks back we were having a heated debate regarding the GT and phoon...if I remember correctly you were leading the charge that the Phoon was the fastest and best car ever and also faster than your 270 rwkw GT. I remember myself and others taking you to task on this...

However, I now found it amazing you have completely changed your opinion ....

I have always maintained the GT 6 speed was a faster and better car to drive than the phoon....but I wouldn't go to the other extreme and say the phoon is no better than an XT sedan...

What has changed your opinion so dramatically...also don't take this too personally but I would be taking what you say in the future with a grain of salt....

At least we agree the GT reigns supreme... :k24t:

Hi wrx365.

Mate as I explained in an earlier post, I think I just got one of those cars. It has lost power in the lower revs and is of course a different cat than an XT what I meant by that statement is that my particular Typhoon does no more for me enjoyment wise than what an XT sedan would, this one has been a generally negative buying experience for me. To the uninitiated the Typhoon may be a great car, but mine is still plauged by all the usual QC probs that should have been weeded out 2 years ago and I didn't even mention the rumbling rattle in the Tremec 6 speed that other owners are talking about :k24t: and I'll bet you a million dollars against a pound of goat sh!t that FPV will have the standard "They all do that" answer whenever they recieve a complaint about the box. Just not good enough and I know they can be edited Unichipped and/or reflashed to give the performance they should have. But compared to the GT my question is WHY BOTHER?

Hey Rick what is going on, what has happened? Al have you spoken to him? Apart from a whiny diff you mentioed no real issues and a sensational car. Can you clarify?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hi Rob, mate you know sometimes you just get a pig, well after 2000 kliks behind the wheel I have come to the conclusion that No 13 is just that. Lost a lot of power from 2 - 3500 rpm, doors don't close properly and rattle, paint blemishes, rattley trim, crook wheel balance or driveshaft, bouncy bouncy at high speed even with the Pedders, big scratch in rear RH rim that the dealer has gone into complete denial over, never got a proper PD. I could go on but I won't. :spoton:

The one thing I will give it is the mid range acceleration and I'm sure that there will be many fine examples of this car turn up on the roads and with a re-flash or a unichip and injectors they will be an awesome bit of gear. I just have an overall disappointment in this particular car that has tainted me against it. Back to the future with a Mk 2 GT for me :msm: from a different dealer. I even got offered a cheap reflash etc etc, but with this Typhoon it is too Ho Hum for me to even bother

Ahh that's a shame buddy. Mk2 GT or Euro? Maybe Jap like Simon?

Cheers Rob

Rob,

Wash your mouth out mate..........Jap, Euro?????

I hope doc settles for the MkII GT.

I'm glad I drove his car before these issues surfaced, must admit it goes when you keep it in the 'sweet spot' but then, personal preference does lie with the V8 power.

Don't worry doc, flog off a few more CD's, China is a very big market, then you can buy a Shelby Mustang, even Ellenore (725hp of pure grunt) :w00t2:

Or dare I suggest....................Murciellago..........please!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t2:

Hey Doc,

Understand your points, I think ford have been lucky to have you as a continued customer. It's the regular ones like you that they should be treating with a little more respect!

Aw well, have to agree with you on the euro side of things, from experince there is one suggestion I would make.

A car that will give you outright power experience, a pleasure to drive and an around package...

A M3 or M5 mate. They may not be overstated on the exterior but by god they are fantastic to drive without having to spend a single cent on them.

Not forgetting they are fantastic for day to day driving, then if you want ot head down the track on the weekend, they will perfrom with superb manners.

Just my suggestion. :w00t2::w00t2:

Don't waste your money on a M3, get yourself a WRX, Sti or Evo..best value for money anwhere...

I agree wrx365, bang for buck they are great, have had one before, would have one again in a flash.

I was more talking to doc from a $$$ perspective and I suppose the luxury component, build quality etc that these cars represent.

The M3 stock however is alot quicker than an STI stock, but still agree two great cars, with their own uniqueness. :crybaby:

Totally Agree Jeff  , because Doc was thinking outside the ford arena, my thoughts were taking the T out of the equation.
