Oh and whats the difference between ordering off the lot and from the factory?

Last time I checked I dont think it makes any difference whether the car is sold before it rolls down the line, at the end of the day the stocks already sold to dealers so its not like your getting a special preference when it comes to build quality.

As for the body being bent was a load of crud, its a simple miss alignment of the rear door, which wouldnt be worth fixing providing none of the panels rub as it will more then likely be worse after they play with it.

as my previous post states he can then order to his exact requirements... that's the difference :spit:

now his choosing the best of whats available... may not have all that he wants. last time I checked it wasnt that difficult to understand :spoton:

Doors are painted sitting on the car at the factory but are removed, not sure of the process there but they definately come back off to be trimed and so the rest of the interior can be fitted out.

As for panel allignment on the one in Sydney they really wouldnt know unless the stock controller went and had a look, which is highly doubtful. (people in dealers are lazy f*ckers). I guess you will have to wait till it arrives, but they arent all 100% from my experience if you get really picky.

I was actually responding to someone elses post up above. that's not the point however, we are talking about panel allignment and build quality.

Bonus's are only on the mark1 which has stopped production, so if I want a mark 2 with same options it would be couple of thousand more.

Yeh Mark II not worth it, unless you wait till Jan 06, then they will be the same price as these BF Mark I.

It seems like a dealership issue to me.

Many cars (all brands) get delivered to the dealer with doors, bonets and boots out of alignment. The dealer is supposed to correct this as part of the $1500 odd they charge for dealer delivery. If they're still out of whack on the yard, then they've not done their job. My AUII XR6 ute's bonet was out of whack when I went to collect it new, but I refused to take the keys until they aligned it (as well as centre the badge that was also crooked).

I'm sure Ford wouldn't be too happy to learn that:

a) This dealer hasn't properly checked and aligned the panels upon delivery

and

b) They are telling customer that this is normal and that their cars are essentially 'low rent quality'.
