Hey Alan,

CSI hey.....whats the scoop with the third name change

Mid 5's to me sounds too low for stock. Are these things really that accurate?

Also, it gave you a 4.4 and 4.6 modded, which would mean your car would be well into the 12's by my calcs. This is based on a typical 13.0 sec car doing 5.0 0-100.

Good if its right.

Luke.

Hey Luke, yeh, didnt want to attract unwanted attention to the car now that I have the Edit.

Figured the numbers were probably too low, but hey, on comparisons sake, mighty impressive improvement :msm:

I have no idea how accurate the G-Tech really is

Buts its a cool toy, so what the hell

G tech is pretty accurate I tested it at calder against the boards and was pretty accurate for what they are. this T had 436km and with unleaded I think there is more in it if there driven right if any wants this car the dealer said to let them know cause its a demo and will sell straight away, this car with a typhoon airbox and a bmc filter fully syn oil and premium in the tank and 1 person is 5.2 5.3 to 100km from experiance also today was pretty humid in melbourne, they engine felt real tight. Driven right the T's are weapons.

I got the photo of the 5.76 to 100 on the dealers camera phone which he will email so I can post.

F=MA

but you got me thinking now  :spoton:

if you are right ... can you explain how the g-tech does it without knowing the weight ??

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It uses an accelerometer of sorts to measure acceleration of the car. By calculating acceleration x time, it determines vehicle speed and distance travelled.

The real fancy ones have 3 accel's., so orientation is not important.

Mine is basic and just has the single one.

You just stick it to the windscreen, make sure its pointed straight down the road and level it so it reads 0 g's, press the go button, wait for it to say Go, and plant it :). (It doesnt start timing till you move, no reaction time cannot be measured)

Inaccuracies would be caused by non flat roads etc.

Damn hard finding a flat private road

thanks Alan :spoton:

still not convinced though ... I haven't used a g-tech for a year or so and always wacked the weight of the car in (got some load cells too :sofa: ) but not sure where this weight was exactly used other than in the derivation of hp ... will go for a bit of a read and a think

still reckon F=MA would prevail in there somewhere .... though I can imagine the acceration being measured in g forces and time just ticks on

is this like dropping an empty bottle and a full bottle of the top of a building ... which hits the ground first ?? :sofa:

as for flat roads ... look for river flats on any map ... always a nice stretch of bitumen a few k's long to be found
