Panel allignment isnt a dealer issue, its certianly not really a checklist item, paint and finish is, but dealers arent going to be that picky and shouldnt have to, its a factory issue that should be rectified on the floor.

It seems like a dealership issue to me.

Many cars (all brands) get delivered to the dealer with doors, bonets and boots out of alignment.  The dealer is supposed to correct this as part of the $1500 odd they charge for dealer delivery.  If they're still out of whack on the yard, then they've not done their job.  My AUII XR6 ute's bonet was out of whack when I went to collect it new, but I refused to take the keys until they aligned it (as well as centre the badge that was also crooked).

I'm sure Ford wouldn't be too happy to learn that:

a) This dealer hasn't properly checked and aligned the panels upon delivery

and

b) They are telling customer that this is normal and that their cars are essentially 'low rent quality'.

They are low rent quality, that's why 70% of them have these issues amonst others.

You get what you pay for, but the point that gets me angry is the fact that there are 30% out there that are perfect, which means they should all be of this standard.

Agreed, but not somehting that Ford would be happy about a dealer pointing out.

Also, I agree that panel alignment should be a factory issue, but in the real world it isn't. They have the same issues with Jap and euro cars on delivery (mind you, not to as high an average). Dealers should be aware of it and make sure it is corrected in the pre delivery.

Go look at a $13k hyundai and I bet the panels are still aligned(not promising they will stay that way though :spoton: )

C'mon Goobz - quit bagging the quality/durability of the Hyundai's. My last two cars were Hyundai's and my wife's Elantra has 124000km on the clock and is still going strong. Exterior/interior fit and finish better than my T as well. I admit it's not quite as quick as the Falcon but I'm still waiting for CAPA to develop an Edit to replace the Unichip that's on it.

You can just be thankful to Hyundai for your 3 year 100000km warranty and start paying out on Daewoos or even the newly revived Fiat instead.

cancelled the order, I will wait till next year.

I guess the workers at FORD are upset because 600 workers have to go so they just stuff around and dont do things like there meant to be done.

I know if I was loosing my job I wouldn't care? anyone else?

Went to New oak to see a bf f6 bionic, 19's Auto 5000km

50900 drive away, that's just a straight walk in. Dealer principle was driving it.

Also dealer principle demo GTP with sat nav 6 pot brembos the works no sunroof, 20000km (and its a DEMO?????????) $58000 drive away. ( Over priced, whats it really worth?) I thought demo could have a max of 6oookm if it is to be sold as a demo not 20,000?????

That is a good price for the F6, I would snap that up, if you like the colour.
