Guest Guests Posted 26/10/06 03:00 PM Share Posted 26/10/06 03:00 PM Hi all,I just bought Youngy's old Xtreme clutch and had it fitted today by Ford. Feels realy solid compared to the stock unit but it has an awful shudder when taking off from a dead stop. I know the clutch is ok because I went for a drive in the previous car it was in before it was taken out. Could it of been put in wrong? Maybe not tightened properly?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/29623-clutch-shudder/ Share on other sites

Guest Guests Posted 26/10/06 03:24 PM Share Posted 26/10/06 03:24 PM I am asuming you removed it and fitted the components in as they were or did you machine the flywheel?if so (the latter) you now have a mismatch in surfaces causing the shudder put up with it it should settle or time for a newy!!!! I re-bled it and it helped heaps still has a slight shudder, but most of the time its only minor, occasionally I get a massive one where it feels like the diff is gonna drop to the ground I've put it down to incorrect installation, or they didn't machine the flywheel before hand. By the way, Mal didn't do the install, it was done here in canberra... depending on how the gearbox goes, I'll get it re installed after christmas and see how it goes then. I might re bleed it if Ford say they can't do anything.Cheers for the help mate By the way, I can't get any photos of my mags to upload. Any helpful ideas?
