And 11.7 with NOS, Blue Power crew where doing 12s and 11's unassisted...

I love the way you say unassisted do you mean things like

Oil pump gears

converters

Diff ratio changes

$2-3k exhaust

race fuel tunes

lighten cars

some cases no exhaust

slicks

cams

underdrives

throttle bodies

CAI

etc etc etc

This is all fine and is part of drag racing you do what you have to do to get the time but dont be stupid enough to say Unassisted

Haha some of u guys can talk some real good sh!t, track temp on sunday did not go over 19 degrees, and trust me I have over 10 time cards to prove so, and for wheel spin MG I didnt here your car churp the tyres off the line let alone fry them to half track but any how that's another story, theres plenty of guys out there with 300rwkw ( C&V Tune) running 11.80's all day and night, big deal if jeff has gas cause it is as fast as your T anyway.

Your right he did with alot less power than MG,sounds like it must come down to the tuner then a :stupid:

Actually a lot of it comes down to the driver. A skilled driver can see a large increase in MPH and reduction in ET. Changing gears at the right time, correct stalling and proper car setup all count.

Losing traction off the mark can cause a good reduction in times and mph.

Like Con has said in the past it would have been a low 10 with Edit

I don't doubt the potential of the APS gear to make a car run low 10s.

As you know Deano and MG we get on and we have fun together all im saying is you guys have been claiming big power for a long time yet have not backed it up MG went 11.9 with 360rwklw and $32K spent on it you guys a flogging a dead horse with your pro uni-jip mentality  I ran a 11.7 with $3k XR6T's are running 10's to mid 11's with less power

CYA JEFF :stupid:

Not everyone spends lots of money to get a quarter mile slip and a useless street car (because it isn't even 'street'). Give me your car with NOS and I'll run a 25 second quarter mile. What's your point. Driver skill has a lot to do with it. It's just like me asking you to take an IQ test; theres a brain there, but the driver just doesn't have the potential.

I think I am going to sit back and watch you guys throw stuff at each other.

I was invited to the track day by a friend and thought it would be a good chance to do a couple of runs to work on driving the car with the new setup, the day gives more chance to run than an evening, plus as previously mentioned I work most wednesday evenings.

Beyond that the car has not been tuned for power, it is running somewhere between 350-370 rwkw while we play with the gearbox. The gearbox was a softer setup and the better box goes in today. After that I will be testing that box, then we will turn up the power, etc etc until we get it to the stage that feels both strong as well drivable on the road. If it pulls a decent 1/4 time so be it.

As previously mentioned I did not mod the car to win 1/4 times or dyno comps. I drive it everyday and enjoy driving it everyday, I also have the $ to make it go decently and look good, and beyond that the rest is a bonus.

The whole edit vs chip thing is so tiring, how about we stop flogging the dog. My car has the edit, no secret there.

Beyond that I have never claimed to be the best drag racing pilot and I am sure over time with practice I will get better at it. I am also sure that with an experienced drag racer in my car with the current set up they would get far better times.

Why can't the discussion be about enjoying our cars, the different way we mod them and the fact that they are a ford, over all the other crap.

Regards

M G

'Coz we're a bunch of guys. And guys don't do that type of thing.

If you want compassion, talk cars with your missus.

I totally agree.... but a lot of guys like to stir, so don't take it too seriously.

As said, it take's a few meeting's to shake down the car, so it's not fair to put undo pressure on someone on the first few passes for a car and driver.

Once they've raced at about 10 meeting's and are still running sh*t times, then rip into them!

I bet half the guy's on here flapping aren't even hardcore drag racing enthusiast's, and are just playing to impress their office mate's at the watercooler the next day...
