Ingall did nothing wrong!

He was clearly up far enough to take the place. Lowndes shuld of just backed off a bit and fallen in behind him, he didn't have to stay into it and cut the corner.

The drive through was very stiff though. When they annouced it Ingall was ahead of Lowndes, which is what he was explaining in the post race interview.

On another point...

I'm sure if Rick hadn't of gotten in front after the pitstop Todd would of 'accidently' gone to deep into a corner and let him through. Tander was gone, the round was all his so he had nothing to lose.

Bring on Phillip Island! :pinch:

I agree; a bit of mutual understanding on both parts would have gone a long way though...

So in the washup, what happened? Is Lowndes still leading the championship?

Has he lost it? Can he recover it?

I think he leads by 13 points

According to the V8 Supercar site he leads by 30 points at the moment but I'm not sure if that is with the worst round dropped.

That is with the worst round dropped.

They had to drop their worst round after Bathurst.

It's a straight out fight for the title now.

I agree with most of the above, was a let down to see the Ford boys not backing each other regardless of teams. Just goes to show it's not like the old days when there was no doubt it was Expensive Daewoo Vs Ford.

and HEY Rusty could never do the wrong thing

I still reckon Courtney will be the one to watch next year, impressive for him to be just out of the Top 10 in his first year :spoton:

all started when the old hobble the ford thing happened again pre race 2 putting lowndes back to 11th. bet it wasnt a certain Expensive Daewoo team dobbed him in. what a joke, if that's the rules get those marshals off the grid so the boys can get their tyres and clutches to optimum temperature on one of the most critical tracks for tyre temperature tracks going. why did it take overnight for decision, where the officials asleep for 22laps?

seems all too common for me this time of year, they did it with ambrose a few years ago.

also skaife did similar to lowndes/ingall thing a few years ago with no penalty as he let the position yield afterwards. inconsistant crap.

our v8 supercars is becoming too political, whingy between teams.

bright is a typical wa*ker, never liked him at pwr now hes proved again why I dont like him.(my opinion).

hope lowndes bounces back to bring deserved justice to the great gentleman racer.

GO LOWNDESY!!!!!!

It would appear that all the ford teams have had a major dressing down.

All team boss and drivers were pulled aside and given a blast by the ford australia big brass and told if this happens again they may loose there backing.

Bright is a STOOGE for not letting him pass and Ingall is a :spoton: for risking everything on one corner when he himself was chasing the title this time last year and would have popped a blood vessel if he had it done to him, would'nt hope a Expensive Daewoo driver would do it let alone two Ford drivers :nono:

Couldn't agree more. Why don't they let them race instead of 'fixing' the results.

I was watching the race with some Expensive Daewoo mates and they agreed it was rigged against Lownds getting a good result and all in favour of Kelly getting maximum points.

The issue with Lownds is not so much what Ingall did, but the penalty was issued instantly, even before the next corner, giving Lownds no chance to rectify th position. Also, Ingall slowed to allow Lownds back onto the track thinking he had to let Lownds back in front after causing him to go off the track. It's funny that at Bathurst, the car that forced The Rat off the end of Conrod, in exactly the same situation, was given a penalty. How are the drivers supposed to readdress the positions when they aren't told what mood the officials are in. Lownds should have been told on the radio of his need to let Ingall by instead of making him loose almost half a lap in a penalty over something he had no control over.

Incientally, they showed plenty of footage of The Kellys and Tander scraping the tyres in the S's, but they received no penalties.

Expensive Daewoo would want to be paying a fortune for the slanted rules they have enjoyed since the V8 category was introduced.
