hooning all comes down to maturity I reakon. yes there maybe some younger drivers on here, myself included, however that doesn't directly imply that we're all crap ass drivers. the T is not your stereotypical hooning car, and most if not all of the drivers on here are not stereotypical hooners, otherwise they would have bought a different car. I think im the youngest guy on this entire site (18y.o) however I don't thrash the living daylights out of my car evertime I get in it. sure I enjoy the occasional squirt, but I don't see the point in chucking burnouts etc etc just to be fully sic.

as long as we're still discussing these issues, then I guess we ain't that bad, as opposed to all the topics reading "fully sic! I just munched a Expensive Daewoo doing 140 in a 60 zone!" (on other forums of course)

Hell I love my burnout's as much as the next hoon but there's a time and place for them, that doesn't include packed carparks or car lined roads.

I am 19 my current T has more then $15000 under the bonnet including full race block and cams...

the problem is that some young drivers that are comming out of front wheel drive cars with low power are at more risk then someone that is at the track almost every week with an more then 10 driving school days including high speed driving.

I know I will get flamed for this but I consider myself a SAFER driver then alot of people I have seen on the road in high powered cars, including xr6 turbo drivers on cruises.

just because I am a young driver people think I am a danger to myself and others on the road.

I am a danger but no more then anyone else here.

I

That well maybe true , but it is the very people you describe above that in coming years will be driving modded Ts and hence my concerns. Not just now but the future driver demographic of these cars. Yes there are SOME very good drivers out there.... we can agree on that.

But it is some of the idiot fringe that get into these cars in the next few years that cause most of us worry. Think the VLs were a worry..... you ain't seen nothing yet

agreed, but my point is that society black lablel me as a bad driver because of my age

and there is nothing I can do it...

you dont hear about good P plate drivers, but as soon as someone does something bad it is all over the news.

I cant wait until my p plates come off then I will not get pulled over almost everyday and searched,

this no high powered cars for p plates thing is possibly the best thing that has happened to save young drivers from death... and that is comming from a p plater.

Court & barrister's cost's, both my car's. If I can't move closer to work shortly my job, costing a fortune catching a taxi to and from work atm esp at 5am 2 days a week.

And most of all my lifestyle, I can no longer jump in the car and go out when ever I feel like it or go to the shops when I feel like it. Everything has to be planned, I normally was only ever was home to sleep but now im only ever at work or at home.

S'only money mate...

Traffic accidents are just that...Accident's, they're not Traffic Deliberates.

You are lucky.

Lumpy

Yes but how many accident's could have been avoided by better driving training/less stupidity/not speeding. 95% of them I think.

Your right most of it's only money, Loosing my freedom is what's hurt me the most.

Re read what I wrote.

Sorry - I did misread that and assumed there was a moment of sanity amongst all the dribble.

My bad, I sincerely apologise.

No dribble mate it's life, it happend and im now paying for it. I made 1 bad choice at 3am and it's cost me dearly.

t

how did it cost you dearly...you are lucky to be in front of your computer right now.

As for lucky to be alive well although I know how stupid what I did was I never pushed the car or myself beyond the limit's, I know what the car is capable of and I know what my driving skills are and would never endanger myself to push beyond them.

mate I would give up everything I owned to save my life...

imagne this...

you are running from the cops because you were stupid in breaking the law...

you were doing say... 100km and you go though some lights and T bone a young family killing them...

it happened last year.

I know you regret what you did but things like that are why we have such a bad name...

if you want to go fast go to the track.

I have run on the street and I will do it again but not when there are 150 people standing on a small street in the back of some warehouse.

Never ran any redlight's or stop signs, it was 3am on a sunday morning with no traffic around. I know it doesn't mean sh*t but it's not like I did it in peak hour traffic. I was running nitto's at the time and blew the front right hand tire, babied the car to a safe place and then left it there.

They were never on my arse so I never pushed it past the point of controll, they even admitted to me they had no idea where I went and it was pot luck they found the car after I left it.

I honestly believe one the brightest things which the government/department of transport has proposed in a long, long time is for all P platers to have to undergo a compulsory defensive driver training program. I would have loved to have done one. :spoton:
