cap260 Member 13 Member For: 18y 3m 2d Posted 19/10/06 03:42 AM Share Posted 19/10/06 03:42 AM I have herd that ford has put out a warrenty alert on cars that have been chipped. They say they have found ways to check this and if found they will be putting a warrenty alert on the car. Can anyone tell me if they have herd this or if they know if ford can find these mods ? If your modification causes a failure and you try to claim it on warranty you should be disappointed.

When I bought the Phoon, I was well aware that any mod's would void waranty. In fact, my Ford Service manager has been kept up to date with all my mod's. I'd like to see you claim engine, transmission or diff if they know you've edited and in your defence say "but the crazy salesman said it was ok". Besides, if anything went wrong, I was more likely gonna upgrade the failure, not put standard stuff back in. I've had warranty claims for the heater, exhaust rattle, indicator switch/electrics and all has been fully covered without a single fuss
