well this has probelly been done before but has any of you guys installed the rip shifter or mal woods short shifter in there ba 6 speed manual. thinking of putting one in my t as gears are a bit sticky and tight. and was told this will easy the problem. anybody in sunny melboure hade this done so that I could see for myself the difference. thanks guys

I am running ripshift, but as the other topics say the mal woods one is just as good...

I am driven both. the ripshift feels quicker but the mal woods one feels stronger and smoother...

if you are looking at either I would go a mal wood one...

im really interested in the mal wood shifter.

can I fit the shifter myself or is it a bit harder than that :spoton:

whats your clutch fluid condition like..? Has i been bleed lately? Is the gear stick tight on the gearbox? i had these couple of issues and it made my box feel like a giant piece of crap..fix them up and its brilliant now... :crybaby:

I fitted mine myself...

it is not very hard,

the hardest thing I found was removing the plastic around the shifter without breaking the little clips...

get the gearbox mounts and drop it about 3 cm and hold it with a jack... that way you can get to all 4 nuts to take off the old shifter
