On a side note what can you learn from the MPH?

For example when I Did a 12.8 @ 113mph the 60' was not recorded on the slip. Some have suggested that the MPH was quite high for the ET.

Does this suggest that the 60' would have been reasonable , crap or indifferent?

People seem to agree that the speed is a better indicator of power than the time is. There are a lot of variables that affect your time but the speed seems to be more consistent ... so they say.

In your case I'm guesing that those who made that comment are aware of what power you have and maybe suggesting your 60' was a bit on the high side. ??? Like I said just a guess based on what small amount of knowledge I've gained from listening to those on here who seem to know about these things.

PS. Just running your figures through a quarter mile calculator from a Mustang website ... your MPH indicates 460hp. However your ET indicates just 390hp - so quite a difference there ??? I used a weight of 4100lbs for the calculation.

PPS. Those are engine power figures so there is margin for variation in the calculator - I think they use a standard 17% driveline loss into account. And for my car (105mph):- the speed calculator indicates power of 370hp which is very very close to what my engine produces. According to the ET calculator my time should therefore be about 13 flat (my best 13.7) - so I have a little way to go with my technique aye.

So if you can find a "rule" from that please tell me ...

If this is the case then it would explain why my trap speed varies at the track but not on the street with the G-Tech.

Heatsoak.

As my general rule of thumb goes, you first run will be the quickest, and have the best terminal speed. I have gone against this once, when I was learning how to drive the ute at the strip, bad launches and wheelspin aside of course.. .

And yes, trap speed is the average speed between 2 light beams at the end of the track, so keep on the gas for a sec or 2 after the line..

Certainly looks like heat soak

I did three runs 1st...60'- 2.345 1/4-13.095 MPH-114.72

2nd...60'-2.336 1/4-13.094 MPH-113.72

3rd...60'-2.404 1/4-13.143 MPH-114.44

Between 1st and 2nd runs was a gap of 1/2 an hour

I done the 3rd run straight after the 2nd.

No wheel spin on any of the runs.
