*&^*%$*$) &%*^$(3@!%^!6 (&%)(*(%#@@^b

any better ???

I was writing what I was thinking ... ok ok ok ...

I think Turbo6 might be able to translate ... merely working out the cost of extra kw and comparing it to models up the range of cars ....

the $2500 mod is worth atleast $20,000 in street terms I.e. the GT....

the $20,000 might be reduced by the cost of a tranny at say $8000

leaving you atleast $12,000 ahead of someone in a GT or GTS ...

and if the tranny lives .... then you get the full $20,000 ahead

I'm tossing the warranty out the door .. this just saved money by not getting a GT

It is what I like to call "The Relative Cost of Performance" and I must say I was impressed with the explanation as I thought I was a part of a minority because I thought this way.

Good to see I am not alone and this is a superb justification to go and spend $2,500. I want to throw in a pod filter and a few more exhaust mod's.

I am excited - this was the biggest deciding factor in the purchase of my ute, the POTENTIAL for little outlay. :D

Just got this email from the Peter Luxon @ APS

  Quote
Hi Chris,

I've not seen the Motor mag yet, though I know the times are correct. - I

was at Calder when the car was tested. We don't expect to release the

upgrade until Late June, as there's been some delays with production parts

for the Unichip computer.

I did not expect the article until next month. The guys at Motor must have

pushed really hard to bring the article forward. - Seems like the XR6 Turbo

is really starting to gain momentum.

Cost for the 280 kW (Unichip) upgrade will be $1650 installed and tuned.

Regards,

Peter Luxon.

Am l the only one who is disappointed with low rev performance of the T6?

l find below 2500rpm there isnt much happening, supposedly this kit makes no difference until beyond 3000rpm. l would like more bottom end, not top.

Comments?

Don't worry Mondie, in a few months you will have 290kw of bottom end!!! When that thing loosens up a bit you wont need any chips or filters! Lucky BUGGER

Ok, I don't have the APS thing... I'd love to, but think I'll be waiting a good year or more to see what happens.

However

I miss the bottom end of the old V8, but at the same time the XRT does get better the more kms you have on it (but I could just be getting use to it??)

I would have agreed with Mondie, in saying that I'm looking for more bottom end, 0-40km/h than mid or top. So APS, IMO, may not be the best choice??? or have I missed something here?

Mal, you'd be wanting a 50kw shot of NOS to get your XR off the mark!

That will sort out the bottom end issue.

Especially with my backside in it
