Aftermarket Intercoolers

Hi, I'm thinking of fitting a different intercooler which the only mod is a cat back exhaust system. I only at present want to put it on for the looks, but as time goes on I will begin to add further mods.

My question is: can a aftermarket intercooler be run with the factory tune?

it should be fine as even if it was a mki you can get a factory reflash for $80 odd and this now allows boost to rise to aprox 10 psi rather than the original 6psi

you now can carefully even boost the std car keeping it around 7psi without edit etc but you must check mixture etc for safety and I have only seen 1 safe out of 3 I have checked they did not ping but were dangerously lean in the mid range before I asume the system crossed from open loop to closed loop

Put it on then dyno it. If its safe, all good... if not edit it
