The vents at the back do have drip trays which run down under the liner and run out in the gap between the motor and fan. I haven't been under the car in the rain to test it yet but I believe it will work.

The Front vent doesn't have a drip tray but will only let rain in like the front grill when driving.

Yeap agree with your statements about front vents, hence why I didn't ask about the front one. The rear was more of a concern at they are close to the ECU, ABS, etc, but it looks like you addressed them. Well done.

So what about fittment of the rear vents only ?? Would you consider it.

Cheers,

Robin.

would it be possible to not get the front intake and just the rear vents?

It could be considered, not sure of cost, and not sure how effective it would be.

If it isn't welded into the bonnet it wouldnt be a smooth line so They couldn't be sold as plug-ins unless you glue them in which isn't alway successful and will leave a ridge. I will look into cost of a bonnet with just the back units - should be a fair bit cheaper (I think).

Just wondering if you would consider doing the rear vents on a V8 bonnet (ie no intake in the front).

If bonnets are RRP $1800 then even with a bulk buy they would be too expensive

I would expect the V8 Frame to be different to the 6 bonnet frame, but without looking at one couldn't tell. It couldn't be fitted to a fibreglass model.

If somebody has an original bonnet I would consider looking into it but it could be a painful process.

Still looking into options and costs but it's highly likely

* May sell back vents as a kit - should be alot cheaper

* May sell/exchange full bonnets with only back vents

still investigating costs and work involved.

I was down at john mcgrath in woden the other day and saw your beast :spoton: it was only the other day that I said I'd never seen it around, and low and behold, a day later I spot it at the dealers. Looked bloody unreal in the flesh :spoton: do you work there? or were you just passing through?

G'day Jimmy, just checking whether your post was for me or Wayne (we're both in Canberra)?

I was at John McGrath last week getting my rear bush replaced (main one that holds the diff). Seems I hadnt been at all kind to it. :spoton:

The bonnet has been on only a couple of weeks and in Canberra a few days.

I've just returned from school holidays so my car was just in for a service.
