From 16 years old to 41 in order.

1980 CM Chrysler Valiant 245 auto. Changed it to 265 and LPG with higher compression and Heatseeker Stage 3 cam. Early 90s, so one of the first people to try LPG as a performance fuel, despite the naysayers who are all for it now. Good cheap performance.

2 spare 1980 CMs down the paddock for spares.

1974 VJ Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T 265 HEMI 6 Pack 4 speed manual. E49 spec engine and tight lsd. Used to spin through 1st and 2nd and chirp into 3rd with 235 rears. It was a show car too, so it looked nice. Hell of a car for a teenager. I kept it until I did the Nizpro Stage 2 to the XR as the Charger was a lot faster.

1974 VJ Chrysler Valiant Charger 265 auto.

1988 Expensive Daewoo Astra 1.8. Previous owner did the suspension set up on it. Beautiful. Best time from Byng street in Orange to Big W in Dubbo was 49 minutes. No power, but it handled.

1999 Ford Falcon AU auto.

2003 BA Turbo auto

2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Velocity 2.4 Auto.

Hi Guys,

Here's a stir for all the died in the wool Ford Freaks!! yep I celebrated EVERY Brock victory at Bathurst. I never envisaged the day when I'd be caught in a Ford!! So my mobile phone number is all GM V8 engine sizes - and now I drive a Ford?!?! Who's got 0428 351 302??

1970 GTS Monaro 253 V8. The BIG BIG insult is that it's worth more now than my current 2008 FG XR6T.

1973 Torana GTR. The BIG BIG insult is that it's also worth more now that my current 2008 FG XR6T!!

1978 Datsun 200SX 5 speed with after market Garrett Turbo. Quick enough to dust off a few 351's - especially pollution XC's.

1982 Commonwhore 253 V8.

1993 VP Commonwhore V6. The model with VL width front track and built-in understeer.

2003 VY SV8. The model with the LS1 that rates a mention at www.pistonslap.com.

2008 FG XR6T.

There's a few omissions in the list - utter dog boxes that I had to drive when I bought my first house.

6) VZ dunnydore

Ok , cars I've owned in the past.

I won't bore you with the many sh!tboxes I've owned (and there's been plenty of them) but just stick to the interesting cars.

I've always loved cars especially Fords and I've always liked race cars that raced in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

I've never really been into bling or drag racing (but it does interest me).

My favourite races are enduros, Le Mans, Bathurst etc.

I like the mechanical side of a race car, the survival side, how they survive the torture of an Enduro.

I even like how they look after being flogged, the dirt and grime, the battle scares etc.

Anyhow my first car was a Ford 1969 Capri, 2ltr V4....yep that's right a V4!

When I first got it, it was blowing head gaskets every 80kms, this is where I started to learn how to fix things myself as I was pretty poor.

7c65212a36c7faca89060c0f86b186f2.jpg

^^^After blowing up the 2ltr V4a few times, I put a 3ltr V6 in it with a 5 speed steel case Toyota Celica Gearbox.

Eventually I blew the V6 up and dropped in a 302 V8 Windsor and 5 speed.

The Capri was now a FANTASTIC car!

Weighing in at about 1000kgs it had great power to weight and handled pretty good.

But then I started getting hassled by the police and got booked twice in 5days.

So I bought something a little more conservative, a Triumph 2500S.

It had a twin strombergs powered 2.5ltr 6 with a 4 speed manual with electric overdrive in 3rd and 4th.

c38b8d8a60aab11193340bb3e514d022.jpg

^^^ this was a really good car and I ended up putting mechanical fuel injection on it and a hotter cam.

I did many interstate trips in this car with one memorable trip to Cairns.

My mate kept a log book of the trip.

Between Mackay and Townsville the car managed 300kms in 2hrs with a best of 86 kms in half an hour!

This was in 1986 before mobile radar Took hold.

I also learnt how to rebuild gearboxes with this car.

Next was a Ford 1973 TC Cortina which I slotted in a 351 Cleveland, C4 auto.

To say it was a bit of a handful is an understatement.

780f0da216844896b19679dc6a5cf3ac.jpg

^^^ it was very nose heavy, had stock brakes and 7&8 inch wide 13 inch wheels.

But man did it go with 4V heads ,780 Holley , 0.550 lift cam and a 150hp shot of nitrous............it only weighed 1150kgs!

Scared myself sh!tless in this car , not so much from the power but more from trying to get it to turn and stop!

Next up was a 1971 XJ6 Jaguar with a small block 350 chev (no it didn't have chev badges on it) ported Fuelie heads, mild cam, custom extractors and a Celica steel case 5 speed box, limited slip Dana diff and massive 4 pot brakes on the front.

I broke many many gearboxes in this car.

I did a lot of interstate trips in this car and it was a really great car.

f0db9bc16bf3fb1e69a8b37444c52791.jpg

^^^I kept this car for 10 years, great car!

Whilst I had the Jag I bought a work car but couldn't leave that alone either.

It was a little Ford 440 1.6ltr Cortina.

It's in the background of this photo.

954a1081c2c140db6a93e4eb341a2722.jpg

I ended up dropping an RS2000 2.0 ltr 4 in it with a Celica 5 speed. Other than that the car was stock, a total sleeper.

And it was pretty quick, weighing in at about 8-900kgs. It would lift the RH front wheel!

Staying with Jags for a while I bought another, a 1974 XJ12 5.3ltr V12.

This car stayed completely original and was a really good car.

Super smooth, I loved that Turbine like V12.

It had quad strombergs carbs on it and I learnt a lot about synchronising carbs with this car.

b12c8d9c9a482d8b1b7cceef755b1b7c.jpg

^^^ eventually the V12 wore me down with it's insane fuel economy, 500kms from the 110ltr tanks........if I was lucky!

I bought a Expensive Daewoo HQ ute while I built my house, it was a 202 3 speed column crash box with all round drum brakes.

d1fd4a4dbd065e5d7e1042f1cba5057c.jpg

^^^It served it's purpose but it was a peice of sh!t.

My next car was my all time love....... A Ford XA Hardtop.

351 Cleveland, 4 speed Toploader, 9 inch 31 spline Detroit Locker.

1ec3846466264e29eb4f74943bb1df94.jpg

I LOVE THIS CAR and will keep it till I die!

It's currently under going a full rotisserie rebuild.

Latest cars are my wife's 08 FG XR6T ZF and my 05 BA Typhoon 6 speed man.

Always wanted a Typhoon and I'll keep this forever as well, love it

^^^Just one more thing.

I did 99% of all the work on my cars.

Except stuff like machining engine parts etc.

I learnt as I went along and made many mistakes but in the end got there.

I think I enjoy working on my cars more than driving them
