My friend has done it and I also intend to...Chris

If you are worried about the heat in a full sized pc we can always supply you with a bigger heatsink...What is really important is to match the hardware with the application. We are not talking about gaming or video editing here. The P4 is simply not needed for this application. It's was hard to get my head around it as well when I was researching the carputer setup because I am used to thinking 'bigger is better'. For this application bigger is not better, it is merely hotter, more expensive and outright overkill.Panda

But as it standsJaycar 250W PSU - $120Wiring / Plugs - $75Case - $50Cooling Fan 1 x 12cm $20Motherboard $75Processor P3 733 $50RAM 256MB PC133 $75Hard Drive 80GB IDE $100GPS Receiver $125DVD Player $100 (assuming it is mounted in the case)Wireless Network D-Link $100 + for bigger antennaCordless Mouse $75AGP Video Card $75 (this is a standard Video Card, not the Arcade VGA Card needed to connect to the factory ICC in BA-BF)Again, if I can get the parts cheaper, the price will drop. Easy to connect, you will have to run a power cable from your battery to the boot and plug that to the PSU. You didn't mention how you will connect the sound to your car, nor what type of LCD you have (VGA input I assume)Panda

Only a matter of time..and, best solution would be a touchscreen membrane over the original ford ICC unit.. I have done it. but its a pain in the arse...d

If you are not running to the factory ICC, you will have to buy an LCD / TFT screen. Price varies on these but it should be between $300 and $400, I haven't really researched this because I was always planning on using the factory ICC.Panda
