Latest word I have is the new Bridgestone RE050A are superb, wet or dry. Highest rated tyre on tirerack.com (check it out for excelent reviews) and even outrated the Eagle GS-D3 in the wet (which means they are amazing). No idea of price yet.

140 treadwear rating but :tease::spoton:

Mate 30 K is not bad, out of a set of tyres.

When you say fronts, does that mean they have spent there entire life on the front, and how many times have they been balanced wheel aligned etc?

yep 30k and there entire life has been on the front (I have 275's on the rear) and they have regularly been balanced and aligned... I dont actually dislike this tyre because of the treadware... its the fact that when they get warm they get very oily, and therefore wear quicker because they slip more... the more they slip the more hotter they get

You must read magazines I've never heard of, as I've never seen the Michelin actually win a tyre shootout. Sure it's always near the top, but not at the top. Have a look at tirerack.com and see the surveys of thousands of owners; the Michelins are rated 2 or 3 overall, and it's wet grip that drags it down a bit. As for the best wet weather tyre, again every forum, and tyre site I've seen generally has the consensus the Gs-D3 are the best and they are easily the best I've tried. I've never seen anybody rate the Continentals as anything special in the wet, so I wouldn't use that as the benchmark. I'll give up some of the Michelin's superior dry grip for a slightly better all round tyre. As for OE equipment, it seems to me that many of the so called exotics use many different tyres, including Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Dunlop, Yokohama as well.

The tyre test Motor Magazine (you've never heard of Motor?) did earlier this year showed Michelin came out on top. Google some more, and you'll find a lot more reviews done by people in the know (rather than just people like you and me) putting the PS2's ontop all around the world.

I am convinced that you are not talking about the PS2's, but some other Michelin tyre as I've said before, the PS2 excells in the wet over other tyres.

The PS (Pilot Sport 1) was an alright tyre, but no where near the spec of some of the tyres we are talking about here.

All the manufacturers I listed use Michelin PS2 as original equipment. Sure they use other tyres, but Michelin PS2 are the only tyre used across all of them. (I.e. not all of the ones I listed use pirelli, or yokohama).

Infact Porsche use the PS2 to benchmark their cars, Konisegg, Bugatti, Mclaren all used the PS2 to do their record breaking top speed runs, some of the around banked circuits rather than straight bits of road.

Even if the Michelin is the best, at the price they want I'll accept a tyre that's 95% as good and half-the price.

I couldn't give a stuff what you buy, you bagged out the Michelin PS2's and even though I don't work for Michelin or have anything to do with them, I have a great amount of respect for the manufacturers of the best tyre in the world.

Just the same as you would have jumped down my throat if I bagged something you were passionate about.

Sheesh, you sound like a fan boy of Michelin. All I said was they are a ripoff and I'll always standby that statement.

For a comparison I just got a quote for the Michelins PS2 in a 275/30 19 and a Yokohama Advan in the same size, Michelin $950 :headhurt:, Yokohama $600.

Hankook k104 $385.00 ea - 245/35/19

Hankook k104 $420.00  ea - 265/30/19

these tirres are sh!thouse... I recomend anything other then the k104's... have them and hate them

when u can justify mashing expensive rubber into the bitumen due to wheelspin, then ill care about expensive rubber. atm, cheap liquirice is for me! :spoton:

yer but its not cheap when they wear out twice as fast as expensive tyres.... my tyres in 245/30 are nearly worn out at 30k... that's the front tires!

im lucky to get 15k and no burnouts
