Holdens official quoted time for the VE SS is a 13.7. Motor running a 13.4 proves that they send hot versions to the media as that is way quicker than the claimed time which would have been the fastest time they could get. 3 tenths quicker just isn't realistically achievable according to Expensive Daewoo even though there is always slight variations between cars. that's why Holdens test car times can never be replicated in the real world with customers cars.

I reckon the 13.4s is bullsheet (I.e. its not the 270kW LS7). Sounds like theyve put the 307kW HSV donk in there. You'd need a 300kW motor to pull 13.4 imho

I didn't want to say it, but I'm glad someone did.

I can't beleive you all put so much credibility in Motor and Wheels published times.  They have never been acurate and as long as they are willing to compromise their integrity for dollars, then they always will be.

Think back to the first test Wheels published on a T v XR8 v SS.  Both Falcons were faster.  The very next issue, for some reason, they ran an almost identical test, but this time the SS was amazingly almost a second faster and touted as the best there (my local Ford dealer had the articles on their walls for a while to proove a point).

Both magazines, for several years now, have consistantly published quicker time for Holdens and usually slower ones for Ford, go to any public drag meet and you'd find the oposite.  Also, Michael Sthal seems to get conflicting results on his Drive tests compared to his mag efforts.

Sorry, but these mags can't be trusted to deliver credible reviews.

HELL YES to the above post

I love my wheels and motor mags I have a pile as tall as I am BUT nearly everything they write is dollar biast so many things and brands dont make it into these mags because they wont pay the "label appearance fee"

if you wanna see the times do em for yourself

I thought the BF F6 6 speed auto would have been the fastest ausy car down the track, Hell that's why I bought one :spoton:

I always see motor for the tests and for so long, according to them, ford didnt have a car in the 13's standard. yet quater mile slips proved otherwise....
