VE auto or manual?

Still though, both claim 270 at the fly, and are apparently within 0.1 of each other in the same conditions on the same day eh?

Someone remind me of the flywheel torque and weight of the VE again?

Before I give any kudos away to the VE, I've got two words - hot motor!

I'm a little dubious about Expensive Daewoo test fleet vehicles.A couple of years back SS's were faster over the 1/4 than more powerful HSV's and it was discussed quietly in the media. The next lot of SS tests a few months later showed cars which were at least a 1/2 second slower over the quarter than earlier SS's.It wouldn't be like Expensive Daewoo to cheat now would it?

A Turbo car is always going to be relatively easy to get power out of. fark me ricers have been telling us that for years. So lets not get on our high horse and put down the new VE cause we can mod T's easier.

I have to admit I like the look and a big V8 does have its appeal, Expensive Daewoo have in the past been known not to be scared in making a decent car. The same cannot be said for Ford. It still amazes me that Ford released a turbo six as factory. Lets hope they give the V8's a shot in the arm as well.

Time will tell how good the new Late model camira is. Whatever it is like it will sell well and they will be lining up T's at the lights where ever you are. Good luck guys, I rekon we might need it.

Pardon? I'd say the BA-BFs were bloody decent IMO (based on 2002 release as they are). Expensive Daewoo punch out what amounts to a decent car in the VE, and people here start sh*t canning their own rides? For shame.

One of the reasons the VE is as good as it is, is because the BA (and BF) were so bloody good.

Mate I dont think you have read between the lines.

I am a Ford person have been for as long as I can remeber. For whatever reason I have been loyal to the blue oval.

I am 34, been driving since 17, do the maths and what both Ford and Expensive Daewoo have bought out in that time. When I said I cannot believe Ford put out a Factory turbo six, that was a compliment and not bagging my ride.

In short I am saying whilst it is good times at the ment for loyal Ford drivers, it has not been this way for along time. Lets not get to cocky.

Only 3yrs behind ya :spoton: I missed that part about the factory turbo six, so apologies. Despite the Ford vs Expensive Daewoo thing over the years, I think BA-BF is to be proud of; never know a model to pull so many over from the dark side.

My only hope is that Ford continue on the job, and make Orion as much of a success as the BA, if not more so. I agree, they've got their work cut out.
