Hi Guys

Just wondering if any of the forum members have experianced the difference between the two brands of suspension.

I Have been looking at The Bilstein B8 series and the Koni Adjustables.

with King springs SL on the front and SSL on the rear along with sway bars 27mm front and 22mm rear.

I am hoping to get the car handling better and also help get better traction.

Main difference advised is the Koni can be adjusted for stiffness whilst the Bilstein has to be sent away for re-valving.

Both products are of similar price although I am very confused which is the better product.

Any Assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

ByeByeRB26

I have Koni's and theblackpig has Bilstiens. Both were fitted by the same guy, Tony from Dr Shocks in Brookvale. Tony has just bought a GTP and said he will be doing Bilstiens.

They were not available whan I got my Koni's, but they do cost more. I think a set of Koni's would cost about $900 and Bilstiens $1200.

As for the ajustments, unless you plan to track the car, I doubt you would ever ajust them. The fronts on mine need to be removed to be ajusted anyway. As fo the rest of your suspension items, all are a great choice. I have the F&R Whiteline ajustable bars, but my springs are king stock height due to my driveway.

The changes will transform your handling and make it feel like a car 1/2 the size and weight.

bilsteins need to get rebuilt after a few years... go with the koni's or even whiteline have a GREAT quality range out nowdays.

Whiteline use both Bilstein and Koni for damper replacement, or their own full coilover setup. The people I spoke to, have said that the Koni reds (adjustable off the car) are intended to be adjustable to account for wear over time. You're right about the Bilsteins, need to be sent away when they get 'sad'.

Stay away from Pedders shocks... simple

Bilstiens or Konis... the best thing about both is they can be rebuilt... you cant go past koni for value and you cant go past bilstien for quality... it kinda boils down to whether you like apples or oranges in your fruit bowl?

I guess you would be one of the lucky ones. Dont be surprised if you have to replace a pedders shock after a year
