Mal,

maybe just get the centre muffler ripped out first and see how the XRT runs ... low cost 1st choice ... I haven't heard it but I'm told the note is awesome .....

going to do the works (like Anthony) on a sedan in about six weeks (including chipping and induction).. still getting the parts together... difficult in these early days, we are still finding out what works :oooh:

our ute is going to have its centre muff removed and chipped first as its exhaust is reasonably straight through compared to the sedan... doing this out of interest/info mainly

keep in touch

cheers

Rob

Rob,

Didn't Harrsn do the Turbo exhaust on the White N/A without the centre mufler? I thought he said it droned?? (He may have done the full Turbo system on the N/A not sure?)

It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Just out of curiosity, I have a couple of questions. I assume you have a sedan, and is it an Auto

1. Does it still have 2 mufflers

2. Is it stainless

3. and finally, what did it set you back (if it's not a rude question)

Thanks

Single 3inch pipe through to a high flow cat through to a resonator through to a tip.

All mandrel bends. Mild steel. Yes ... Sedan Yes .... Auto

Cost was less than what I expected and was discounted as a favour through a friend.

ACT exhaust is offering a 15% discount for ACT club members. Join Now Next meeting is on Thursday 5th June at Gregories 7:30pm if you want to have a look and a listen.

Falchoon ... yes they are opposite Gregories in Braddon.

Fuel economy has improved but by what percentage it is hard to tell (too early).

Example Drove to Winton on the weekend and averaged 10.6l/100km . 2 months ago I drove to Wangaratta and averaged 12.8l/100km.

The Winton trip was a full load 3 adults 2 kids full boot. The Wangaratta trip was just me and a tool box.

Ok after thinking about this for some time, and talking about it for even longer  I'll be removing the centre muffler, taking pictures, sound, video etc and letting everyone know my results... I'll even try to take it back to Unigroup and put it back on the dyno (as long as they don't charge me to much) and post the results also

Hows that?

I'll take a beer from everyone who finds the information useful  which will probably mean I'll be drunk for weeks

Ok, it's done, the centre muffler has been REMOVED!

I know, I know, you want pictures... well I have heaps... but first things first.

THE NOTE IS AWESOME!!!

It's not loud, it's doesn't drone, it's just a slight increase in volume but you can hear the sweet burble. It's very hard to discribe, it's like a mix between a V8 and WRX. It's not the same note from a 3". My personal opinion is that it's better. two reasons, first it's not as loud, and second you can hear the burble better IMO.

Also, I'd like to thank Scott from Carline Gosford for all his advise

Here it is, ready for some surgery

All this for less than $100.

At this stage I haven't had it back on the Dyno, but impressions are that it has a little more bottom end pull... It could be my imagination, and be put down to a deeper sound, but it seems better.

I'm hoping to get it back on the Dyno to see for sure

Feel free to PM me a "virtual beer" for this information
