The photo tells a thousand words or should I said a bucket load of $$$$ :msm: . Its my spark plug out the number 6 pot which I am guess has a bent rod as I have had the rocket cover off and the top end looks good, but can not be 100% sure until the head come's off. So looks like I will be saving up for a full rebuild and having my car off the road for a while. Good job its not my daily drive. This begs the question can I claim to be the first person with a BF to bend a rod :roflmbo:

I have heard of regapping plugs, but this is ridic.

On a serious note mate sorry to hear it, not a title I would be aspiring to, but a title you have earned.

Chrome the rod and sit on your mantle piece.

Probably not something to be proud of considering these cars are capable of running high 10's on the stock bottom end.

Something serious obviously went wrong; what exactly have you done to the car? Exhaust & cat mods, plus tune and injectors?

My mate has all ready told me that he wants the rod so he can mount it and hang it on my office wall :msm: . Guess I am never going to live this down :roflmbo: .

It happen just as I was slowing down to turn right at some traffic light doing about 20 km/h, car ran rough like it was running on 5 pots not 6. So I drove the last 1 km to my mates house, wait for the motor to cool and pulled out the plugs and that's it. Running about 14 -15psi and has all the mods listed in my sig.

Its a chance we all take when we mod our engine's and I new this when I started doing the mods. Its going to cost me $$$ but at the end of the day I will have a stronger motor which I know will give me plenty of power and I dont have live under the cloud of "will I bend or throw a rod" like all the other guys with good power and a stock bottom end

I reckon its not a bent rod looks like something has hit it. the conrod get shorter when they bend not longer

Me bets its a dropped valve.

I agree with phill they get shorter

olz has a posible theory

ultimately its mechanical damage that can only be caused by the piston pushing some thing into it and it wont be the first engine to have valvesprings fitted that has dropped a valve!!!!

one poor bugger had ford fit them (v/springs) 3 engines/builds later his still got dramas not to mention $$$$$
