You only have to look at the times guys on the LS1 site are pulling in modified, lighter VXs.

Why all of a sudden, does a new, heavier car with less power (over modified) get better times? It doesn't add up that the heavier SS with just 10 more kW is so much faster than the previous model (also a 6 litre in the last few). Even more amazing is that with just 7 kW more in the HSVs they have dropped over a second o-100 :spoton: Amazing stuff.

As usual, we will have to wait to see some real world times at the strip.

The real performance gains in the VE isn't really about power, there is more than power when being fast. The new commo has much better weight balance with the new chassis, closer to 50/50 and it gets power down better, they may have also changed the ratios, all which will improve times...

Agreed, but the only proof will be in real times. Without fail, Motor and Wheels times for Holdens are always quicker than what the cars can actually do, however, just about every other brand seems to be quicker.

Yep its a bit of a pain. I'm a ford man through and through but its still a great acheivement from GMH.

In The latest BFYB the Commo won, and got a quicker time than the F6.

I'll still keep my XR any day but its just not nice to be on the wrong side of the 400m sprint result

Decoy is correct...but what amazes me is that Wheels could only run a 13.8...whereas Motor claim a 13.3 for the same car.!!! ....something tells me the usual "interference" by Company minders has had an influence... :stirthepot:

especially when you consider that the VX SS never cracked a 13 on any of the road tests Ive read....and the performances at Calder support this..
