Guys, a while back Dr Z posted up this link:

http://wiki.mysterymeatgrinder.com/index.p...er_Fundamentals

have a read, it goes through how the turbo works and so on......there are many theories on how the BOV works and which is better. End of the day, unless your dragging your car and trying to cut down point something of a second then it prolly wont make much difference whether or not you have an after market one installed. Ive always liked the sound and it was one of those things I decided to add to the car as soon as I signed the papers...........so for me it adds pleasure when driving my car.

As far as power is concerned, I didnt dyno my car before and after, it was dyno'd after the filter and valve where fitted, although I doubt it will make much of a difference (if any) on a dyno power run !

:ermm: Could someone clear a few things up for me.

Are Stealth FX blow off valves illegal for street use?

I've been told you are not allowed to vent any gases into atmosphere

due EPA. I would love to have one because I love the sound as well but

not enough to be pulled off the road.

Does the XRT have a waste gate? If so is it internal or external?

Doesn't a waste gate and a blow off valve make the same sort of sound? :ermm:

 3wks 2 go & she's home! :pinch:

Howdy mate......to answer your question, any venting into the atmosphere is a defect. The advantage with the GFB is that you can set it to 50/50 or even full plum back, but if you are gonna do that, then you may as well stick to the original BOV. Theoretically if it is plummed back it shouldnt be a defect but if your a smart ass to the cops im pretty sure they can defect you for it......perhaps you should ask one of our resident coppers on the forums :).

Personally, Ive had mine on full atmospheric for a while now and I have never been pulled over....I even had a Ford/Expensive Daewoo talk with a highway patroller (who was driving an SS mind you) and he didnt say anything about the valve when he saw it (I think it all comes down to your attitude toward the police. Treat them with the respect they deserve and they'll treat you with the respect you deserve)

Somebody might need to correct me on this one, but if I recal correctly it would be an internal wastegate on the T and I dont think it makes sounds like what your BOV does (could be wrong on this).
