I tihnk they look OK. Saw em last night. They look abit like drift cars to me. They really ought to go better than they do. HSV is eating em alive again.

Ii was going to buy one for my manager. Unitl he saw the Senator......

Yes, VE Senator is going to sell like hotcakes (relatively speaking of course).

My personal preference would be for GTS, sans rear spoiler, with 6 spd manual - no autos for V8's please.

Having seen pics of these things now, I'd be removing those 'Force badges on a hurry'. Everything else works IMO, though I'd be staying well away from the 'optional' red leather colour, and just getting the standard 'charcoal' coloured leather seats.

I thought the red interior looked great! :crybaby:

Ford has lost it. Traditionally the GT was always based on a Fairmont, not Falcon (or XR) as they have done now. This has now left a gap in their range.

To be serious they should look at the following cars in the FPV line:

F6, performance orientated based on Xr6 with

300+kW T motor

GT, perfromance orientated based on Xr8 with

320+kW V8

GTP, perfromance orientated based on Xr8 with

380+kW Supercharged V8

Force 6, performance orientated, mid spec luxury based on Fairmont with F6 motor

300+kW

Force 8, performance orientated, mid spec luxury based Fairmont with GT 320+kW V8

Platinum 6, performance orientated, ultra spec luxury based on Fairlane with F6 motor 300+kW

Platinum 8, performance orientated, ultra spec luxury based on Fairlane with GT 320+kW V8

Plus the utes of course.

At the moment the V8s don't have the grunt and there isn't enough difference between the F6/GT and GT-P and the new Force cars.

They say Fairlance isn't selling, maybe because it's booring and no better than a Fairmont anyway. At least Expensive Daewoo gets it right with their models and HSV variants.

Mate, seriously, the way things are going with big car sales, I would be surprised if even Orion doesn't get a new V8. If it wern't for the 80 mill the government stepped in with in May, Orion would have been a face lift - yep same doors as the AU.

AU was such a big f'up and now with sales dropping like flies, you may need to get used to a very second rate V8 in the falcon line up, let alone competitive with the LS2.

The issue is that Ford has only themselves to blame. Last time they dropped the V8 their sales suffered dramatically. Realistically, sales of the performance and luxo models themselves are not where they make their money. But something Expensive Daewoo has realised that because they have these well received, top performance cars, their lower models receive the sales benefits from those that are attracted by the top level cars. Have you seen a Expensive Daewoo ad where they don't use the top model in the images? Have you ever seen Expensive Daewoo win Bathurst or Sandown and not have adverts running the next day, attracting the easily led public to their brand. Ford still hasn't done anything about winning their first Bathurst this decade.

As far as the motors go, the Boss motor is technically far superior to the LS2, it just needs to be developed properly. Ford's latest cop out by saying that because of the OHC set-up they can get low down torque is a load of sh*t. Merc and BMW have been doing it for years.

Big car sales might be down, but they still are the majority of the market and there'll always be a market for them.
