Does anyone out there know how much data the trip computer stores.

What is the average speed/ fuel consumption worked out on? It cannot be based on total fuel/time/Km's travelled 'cause I have not reset it at all and have about 60hrs on the timer and an averag speed of 45km/hr which multiplied out does not equal even close to my total km's. 60 x 45 = 2700 and I have over 6000km on the clock.

Hi Richdave,

this electrically dependable car has one of those memory thingys in its computer. It's constantly learning "Richdaves" driving habits. Problem is that its life started at a yard where it sat around idling for yonks while being predelievred, which has given you those wacky figures. The only way for it to monitor you is to master reset it, then it will forget all that nasty stuff that happened before you took it home.

I've been re-learning my Distance to Zero guage of late on my "T." When I first got her she'd only read 400ish when I filled it up. Now it reads 460 plus as I've taken to driving it past zero up to 15 k's each time. I've gone as far as 490 k's on a tank, so I'm still working on it.

Scotty

so it learns from my driving style...it obviously can BS like me too   . I have 7200km on the odo and about 72hrs on the clock so that makes an average of 100km/hr....I wish  The best part is I have never reset trip B meter and it now reads 2.5km HIGHER than the odo

I'm doing a full on navigation rally in a couple of weeks, so everything will get a workout. I will post any worthwhile comments.

I have already checked the trip vs the official test road distance, and it wouldn't have been more than 10 meters out over 6.2 kms. The officials use a calibrated Terratrip.

DAVOWA, are you doing the Full Monty or Twilight? I have just had to pull out of the Full Monty due to other committments (entered in a Lotus 340R - seriously quick car). It will be good to see a T competing against the HSV's.

Give this a go guys.

See your cruise control at 100km/hr as accurately as your eyes will allow, change your trip to show average km/hr and then reset it while cruising at 100 and see what speed it spits back at you.

My trip is on average around 4km/hr out at 100 , I.e. it says I am doing 96 km/hr while I have the cruise set at 100 - would be interesting to know what others are.

So, is the speedo or the trip computer wrong?????? Where does each get its reading from??

Yeah Mike1, I was doing the Twilight, but I got a phone call on Saturday saying the damn things postponed due to lack of entries!!

We should maybe look at seeing if we can get a core of 'T' punters in WA to enter a couple or 3 events a year as this is the third event this year that's been postponed or cancelled due to a low roll up.

I am entering the Monty also, but not in the 'T'.

DavoWA, great idea. Classic Rally 19,20 & 21 September sounds good!

Hey Mike1, pity the Classic isn't organised better. I did the 2001 version, and the organising was not good enough for a $1500 event.

The Italian Job and the Monty eat it for breakfast, but the Classic does have the history and the name.

(so far!)

Maybe see you at the Tickford meeting on the 6th of June.
