Guest Guests Posted 24/09/06 10:53 AM Share Posted 24/09/06 10:53 AM Now that the plugs have been changed and the car tuned, do the plugs need to be checked at any certain point after seeing a plug in that state? Or will it be fine because it has been tuned? Can detonation happen again after it has been tuned?Nesh←I would hope that it would be safe till your next major service!!!!especially seen as its been tuned!!! Sorry to see..Time for that turbo upgrade huh??←Yup.Going to get an endoscope for next weekend to look in the cylinder to see if any damage has been done, then do a leakdown test in all 6 pots. Rip the dump pipe off and check out the exhaust turbine to see if it has collected it on the way through and if necessary, pull the turbo off and have it rebuilt - with a bigger compressor of course. All I can see is $$$$$$$$$$

I'd advice sending the whole engine back to atomic as they did a great job and I had about $1500 worth of head damage.Even though the compression ratio wasn't changed the new bottom end was no doubt a lot more efficient than the factory bottom causing the detonation.
