l wonder how they could get this wrong. Seems a little suss.

Could it be a marketing move designed to really put the blowtorch on Holden/HSV?

G'day all!!

According to my sources at Ford the power output initially stated by Ford has been incorrect and will be modified to 250KW. Can anyone else confirm this???

I find that hard to believe. Guess we have to wait and see what the real figures are. Why would it be incorrect though? Why would they say its only 240KW and then later say 250KW? I dont get it <_<

Me neither.

Ford go on about ISO/quality standards and accurate power measurements done to global standards, how could they then come out and say oh we meant 250, not 240.

Rumour has it ( and it's just rumour) that the car has between 250 and 260kw on tap. Why do they say 240? How many XR8's do you think would be sold if for 5k or so less you could get the same power. So they have marked down the kw of the car to sell the XR8. What's 10-20kw between friends. And then come the mods...

We all know this is a great car, and if mine EVER arrives, I have a mate with a dyno and will see what lerks under that bonet...

I betcha the XR8's going to be pumping around 270-280kw.

As for the GT, yes, you will find that it's probably closer to 300kw than 290kw. Just like T3's 250 *cough*260*cough* kilowatts.

Don't you just love this conversation. A couple of years ago, performance figures like 240+ Kw was unheard of in the sub $50k. All that was talked about was fuel economy etc..

Now we have the need for speed and performance. I love this age of technology. Bring on the 350kw under $50k (in years to come).. Life is great....(if I EVER get my car)

In years to come?

1 x BA Falcon XT V8 @ $38,640

1 x Suspension upgrade @ $1000

1 x Engine mods to the value of $10,000 (exhaust, blower, nitrous, whatever)

Total: $49,640

:D
