I have not got a picture, but I messure the hight that it sits in the tank, from the bottom to the top plate, and then messure the lenth the hose has to be, (only about 7cms at a guess. that way there is no sideways presure on the hose.

the hose should be straight, but if you do it to long, it will not push into the tank low enough.

hope this helps

Can anyone help me with this question I am about to ask... as you may all be aware (as per posts) I have had my fuel pump replace and now I have been having trouble with the submergible fuel line which has been replaced three times and has been splitting near the clamps... the car has been running a little rough the past couple of weeks and I was wondering if this would have any effect on the following engine parts to my car.... was wondering as the car might be running to lean that the valves may be damaged the cat converter might be also damaged and plugs, Can anyone enlighten me with this... :msm:

unfortunatly I have bad news..

I had this exact problem with my old vr commo, when the fuel level dropped below 1/3 ir would not run..

I spent lots of $$ trying to get it fixed, new pumps, filters internal lines in the tank and it still ddn't fix it. had to trade the pos in in the end with over half a tank of fuel!!

Is it splitting at the clamps?

I read somewhere that you can't use normal clamps as they split the hose. You need to use proper efi hose clamps which are designed not to damage the hose.
