Are you turning the steering wheel say from lock to lock??

A lot of people on the forum have had a problem with steering creak.. Its where the steering rack and the crosmember bolt on. The slightest movement between the two causes a clicking noise to come from the front of the car.

What they did with mine was put shims between the two and its all fixed now...

I expierenced many sounds and clunks from my car.Just got used to it.Twice I had a sound that went BANG from underneath the car while driving to Sunshine coast.Sounded like the gearbox hit park whilst driving.Scared the  out of me.

It never did it again.

:idunno: if it is the rack bolts, all you have to do is undo the rack nuts (x2), pull the rack out a little and apply grease to the studs and tighten the nuts back up very tight

Not sure its the same noise but I had a "crack" noise whilst gently accelerating from the front. It turned out to be some suspension component not being tight enough. Took darn fools 3 goes to get it fixed.
