I too had a TX3 laser turbo that made a respectable 135kw at the front treads and at the time smashed current VX clubbies and was easy to drive. It just gave your arms a little work out.

I'm wondering why your TX3 Laser Turbo out accelerate a VX Clubsport at the time? It was probably a bit lighter so the power to weight ratio would have been in your favour? Does that imply the new supercharged Aurion could do the same against current Fords and Holdens?

No just stating that front wheel drives are not that bad to drive with some moderate power.I do sure believe that the new Toyota will be of better build quality then the current Fords anyway.I think its all good that other manufacturers are bringing some forced induction cars out aswell. It makes for some healthy competition.

I think it looks good but half you guys will shoot it down cause its not a Ford.

My 2 cents

............Im with Tranny, I've owned a fwd twin cam corolla and handled great, been in a EP92 glanza starlet with a 1.3litre turbo (gt28) and I would smash any "T" or GT here .................

Pretty bold claim. I bet it still wouldn't pull the top off a rice pudding..... Front wheel drives are for hair dressers

Now I love rear wheel drives, but yeah my old rover tomcat which is a 2L front drive coupe had a torson diff, its kind of like a LSD but different.

This car was quite different handling to my old telstar tx5 which I almost lost control of when going round a corner in the wet the telstar when turning with "power" down just went in a straight line! the rover on the otherhand would fly round them.

FWD turbos go hard this thing took out one of those Expensive Daewoo 4WD V8s off the line really only cause it weighed like 1100kgs.

Just too bad about the reliability of the rover, 2 engine rebuilds, gearbox done, 3 radiators the list goes on aye all within 20,000kms, all honesty I hardly ever drove it really really hard! ....petrol prices are wayyy to high! LOL

f*ck me some of you guys can be narrow minded. I can't even be bother wasting my time making a good post about it, I especially love the way you seem to compare everything to (not fast) holdens.

Welcome to the scroungey one-eyed general attitude of the forums. Enjoy your stay.

Im a little biased here but Toyota build great motors but find the need to put them in sh*tty cars. Hence my last car project was the combinaiton of some classic Toyota style and a modern toyota motor.

But seriously wtf is the point of that, a charged fwd, hrmm that would be handy with all that weight on the front end and low down torque going round a roundabout.

Looks like Ethel and Lesly will straping on the lawn bowls hats as they blast of for a quick ride to the bingo
