The paint would act as an insulator to a certain extent I suppose.....would be next to no impact but still an impact nonetheless!

Hey I done it yesterday and I must say it looks a whole lot better.... really grabs attention now...... ill post a pic if I knew how but here it goes....

if your going to paint the cooler while its on the car then its wont take long

just need to make sure you mask up everything first so you dont get any

over spray and maybe take around hour or so.

if you are take of the bumper and cooler it might take some time

but in saying that the end result would probly look better just

take your time on it dont rush it.

Yea I painted it while it was in the car... Just made sure to mask up EVERYWHERE and still managed to get a bit under the bumper (under the number plate bit) but ya cant see it but yea... took me all of about half an hour... I sanded it (roughly for 2 minutes) then cleaned it up with that grease n wax remover stuff then sprayed 1 coat of VHT Aluminium spray den 1 coat of clear... Let is dry for a while and whent for a spin to dry properly.... couldnt be easier.....
