Painting Intercooler

Hey just a quick question.... Is it ok to spray ya intercooler? Do I need heat proof paint? Is their a better way to do it? A guy told me that the paint can get into the intercooler thru the fins and into the engine.... I reckon its bull but can any1 confirm??

I did this to my car and I used VHT Chrome Plus this is how it came out.

When you do this just make sure you spray constantly and not to heavy

and try to keep it thin across the cooler hope this help pics arent best quality

Septone gold chrome from supercrap. Everyone was going the fake chrome look so I went the fake gold chrome look!!! Its been on for nearly 18 months and needs to be re-done. I took the cooler off and gave it 3 coats. Some just mask up the front but mines a MKII with the stupid bracket in the way so thought I would do it properly. Bit of a pain but not to bad if your patient and have plenty of brews in the fridge.

Might use some clear too next time. Oh the paint wont affect power either..... its already painted anyway!!!!!!!!

I was thought I was gonig coloured blind for a sec now I understand why it

doesnt look full chrome :sleepystuff:

Yeah it's actually no where near as gold as it looks.... I've been on cruises with guys and they haven't even noticed :sleepystuff:

It's different and that's what I like about it..... if it was twice the size then I'd be a bit happier though :laughing:
