There is no doubt regarding the significant amount of oil left, however it is getting harder to extract.

For every well that is sunk there are serveal that get nothing, this all acount for the price of oil.

A couple of years ago BP had spent 500 million in a year on finding oil and came up with nothing.

Oil price would go down if the US dig in thier own back yard, plenty of oil there.

I think if unca sam stopped blowing the crap outta every goddamn nation that doesnt see its point of view the price of oil would never have got outta hand....

How much money do you think American oil companies have invested in the outcome of american attacks on oil rich countries...??

Peak oil is not all about running out of oil, it is about the chaos that will be created when demand far outstrips supply.... Once demand (which will never peak only keep getting higher) outweighs supply by more than ten percent, every single thing we have come to accept in the world from computers to food to tab's tampons will be affected.

An we WILL see it in our lifetime - (except for the old fukers like Ken)

Don't need to wait, it's an argument based on fact. As long as there's a need for Oil, Oil will be available. Indeed it may become harder to find / extract, but this isn't the same as "running out"

Yeah, after consulting with my brother who currently works with oil geos them and dad who hosted the some of the first (US) geo's in western queensland when they tapped oil, They're all of the same belief.

Lot's and lots of oil available, not really commercially viable now or not of the right flavour, yet. You can run a Disel Landcruiser straight out of the ground with some well's out there simply by using two water seperators. 90% Disel!

True, it can't really be refined to make our favourite 98 Octane juice but then again, the BMW 535d has uses twin-turbos to make 200kw, 560nm while boosting to 40psi AND achieving 40mpg!

In 10 yrs, we'll almost be out of oil.

In 20 yrs.....

In 50 yrs.....

In 100 yrs, we'll STILL be almost out of oil.....

And through it all, we'll be suffering through increasing oil prices for as long as the oil companies supply our demand for their product.

They put up the price, we complain but pay it.

They put up the price, we complain but pay it.

They put up the price, we complain but pay it.....
