Started from scratch again. Loving it! I'd prefer to do Kick boxing again but I'm too lazy to find a club! Gonna start full contact soon. Looking fwd to it! I did Judo for 8 years. Any form of martial art as a kid is great for discipline and character building.Good on him for getting his yellow belt! I have had the luck to teach professionally for the last 15 years and I get to celebrate 30 years of training next January. As far as self defence goes some styles are more focussed that way than others, many styles these days are far more tournament or sport focussed and don't cover a lot of the basic self defence material. I trained with Kancho Sullivan last week and he still amazes me what he can do for a 59 year old.I think its great that kids learn martial arts.
