in all seriousness - I think it would be wise move for ford to up the ante against the VE - specially in the FPV stakes!

You'd have to agree that...

It would be a welcome surprise if they did. Surely the XR6T and the Typhoon/Tornados are able to with safely withstand a minor pcm tweak to access the extra power to bring them up to numbers stated earlier on.

Tit for tat I say!!! Nah fuggit, go all out and bury the muthaf@#kers

and ford have a history of leaving major engine power upgrades for new model cycles.

Huh?

What abaout the 220kw and 250kw motors in the Series 3 AU and T-Series right at the least minute????

can we get a bit more info about this, who out there knows and is keeping quiet.

If the F6 gets its 295kw up grade tissues will need to be replaced with pasanger sick bags.

Can you see Ford doing a blower on a 320 GT and only getting 350 and 600Nm me thinks not.

Lets hope its true but I doubt it..

However, hopefully FPV do something to tweak the F6's, the XRT got an extra 5 kw and 30nm in Ba-Bf, and the F6's stayed the same so I think its the F6s turn for an extra 5kw and 30nm... The V8s are quite a fair margin behind the E series now too, and coz ford quote their figures in DIN, it looks even worse on paper for them as they now need to do ECE, maybe they will just keep the 290, but quote in ECE now instead of DIN. Something ford would do anyway, that way they wouldnt have to change the stickers on the bulges, and on the air intakes inside the engine bay.. :spoton:

No way in the world. These figures I think smell of Orion, not BFmkII.

In the fair dinkum stakes, I dont Ford are all that far behind in the performance. Sure the GT/GT-P do have there arses handed to them, but I think that can be changed with gearing, and either a small power increase or weight reduction.

Apart from Holden's performance claims, no tests have been published, and I think you'll find the Ford's will compete well.

Reading the sometime entertaining crap published on ls1.com.au, some guys coming out of there VY/VZ SS's,Cubsports and Monaro's think the VE is significantly slower, some have written they think its faster. Who knows. But with a heavier car with less than portionate power increase, I cannot see a manual being faster, it has to be slower. Havnig said that, I think the new 6spd auto box will make a significant difference to the Commodore.

xr6t= 260kw

xr8=280 kw

f6=295kw

Gt-GTP 320kw

Dont know how good this source is, said they were debriefed this week on it at ford.

Orion rumoured 5.4 super charged. 600NM 350KW likely to be called F8, Engine was going to go in BF but arse end not strong enough for power of engine. WIth all the new reenforments the orion will handle it.

I heard from this guy on the street who was naked and holding a "Im telling tall stories" board that the XR6T will have 531kw's, XR8 535kw's, the F6 1 Gigawatt and the GT would be installing a new 4 cylinder hipo engine packing a massive 65kw's to increase fuel economy...

I wont believe a single peice of info until they are sitting in a dealers car yard ready for sale..
