Clutch Fluid

Hi Guys,

I have a 6 Speed Manual F6. I checked the clutch fluid resevoir and the fluid was black. I have noticed second gear is a bit notchy and difficult to select from 1st when cold. All other gear changes are good except the 1-2 change.

I'm wondering whether this could be part of the problem. Someone recommended I add Nulon G70 to my gearbox oil but I'm not sure that will help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I read somewhere on here that someone had bled thiers and added PBR fluid.

Silly question but how do you bleed the clutch fluid?

Hmm I would say flush the fluid out, its a  of a job I understand. Its the same as the brake fluid. It's definitely worth doing the brakes and clutch fluid at the same time IMO, then u know exactly how old the fluid is in your car. Get yourself a couple of litres of castrol response or pbr fluid.

Nah Steve isa a piece of p#ss to flush the clutch only takes about ten mintues...just sucks that on the t56's you wind up with fluid dripping out of the bellhousing for a bit because of the dumb location of the bleeder... :tease:

There are no such things as stupid questions, only stupid people

But seriously, u need 2 people, a few car stands and some nimble fingers with a spanner and a hose/bottle/brake bleeder bong... one person to be under the car and the other to be going between the clutch pedal and the reservoir. Get your dealer to do it to save the effort

I'm actually going to do this tomorrow..

I am looking at Mals' clutch ressie kit. Seems a good idea.

2nd gear is crunchy, actually, they all are, and my diff makes a noise, and it all creakes at takeoff.. Will the clutch fluid fix all of this?? lol.

His watamawat?

I'm gonna use Castrol Response Super Dot 4, see how that goes.

We now offer a Braided Fluid line, this replaces the original fluid line which is subjected to heat as it is close to the exhaust, this costs $135.

We also offer a Braided Remote bleed which places the bleed nipple in a spot which is very easy to get at and furthermore it is a one Man job, the cost for this is also $135. The transmission has to be removed to fit these and use a good quality Dot 4 fluid. Mal
