Hi All,

Had Edit done over 12 months ago and last week or two have a problem with the TC & ABS light coming on for no reason. If I reverse out of my driveway and select drive the lights come on or sometimes if I just start the car and move slightly it does it too. I did have issues with it turning off at full throttle but got around that by turning TC off when going hard. Any ideas would be appreciated. Maybe I should re-load the custom tune. Thanks in advance. :spoton:

Seeing that you got your car edited 12 months ago it is highly unlikely that the edit has anything to do with your problem. Don't you think??

I had the same problems and it was a faulty wheel speed sensor, used for both ABS and TC. It could be that it just needs a clean and the connections checked. Otherwise you will need it replaced. Ford can tell you which one it is by checking the errors logged in your PCM.

Sometimes I question the stability of the Edit/Custom tune. I have had my T tuned by one of Australias highest regarded tuners where things like TC turning off etc is supposed to be fixed. When the tune was first done it was along with a few other issues. Every couple of weeks I have to reflash with the custom tune which fixes these issues. Within a couple of weeks these issues reappear, reflash etc etc etc!

I do wonder if it these ECU's actually relearns key functions of info, which periodically need to be re-written. If this is true what other "key functions" like timing, fuel etc are also being effected!

This leads back to the age old arguement piggyback v's edit. Edit is by far superior for performance, but maybe piggyback is more stable. I'm not looking for an argument or debate, just thinking allowed! :crybaby:

I had the same symptoms, turned out to be the same problem. wanted to charge quite a bit for it too. luckily the warranty still covered it.

Garfield, piggyback or Edit the PCM still learns; it's just with Edit there are sooo many more things that tuners can fiddle with wihtout truly understanding the potential outcomes of their attempts at sorcery. With Piggyback the PCM software stays as is which does in fact mean that you are far less likely to get a bad tune or any of these apparent Edit features. However, in the right hands it is possible to take the tune state further with Edit than with a piggyback.....I repeat..in the right (patient) hands.

Thanks for the feedback. Put the standard tune back and same problem. Booked in to Ford. They have now advised both front wheel sensors are faulty. No warranty. Hmmm!!!
