Mate if your not happy give Shaun at powertorque a call and chat to him with your concerns. They are a great bunch of guys there and go out of there way to resolve any issues.

I think you are all getting to worried about a dyno figure. As we all know dynos read different figures to different dynos. Powertorques mainline dyno will always read lower than a dyno dynamics. For example there was a car tuned at powertorque that makes 280rwkw day in day out on there dyno and on the RDP dyno day pulled close on 300rwkw with no changes.

Powertorque have heaps of there cars running 250rwkw to 290rwkw running 11 sec 1/4 mile runs. One has 283rwkw and runs 11.01. Another with around 250rwkw running 11.55.

Take it up and give it a run at the track and it will soon give you an indication of power by what mph you run. You may just suprise yourself.

I have had heaps of dealings with the powertorque guys with my car and they couldnt be more helpfull and honest bunch of guys, that's why there reputation is so good. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Just pick up the phone and have a chat. Youre not doing yourself any good giving them a serve online and its not fair to them if they dont even know that youre not completely happy.

yep I agree... call them and let them sort it out... has to be an undelying issue... marks a great tuner

as for figures reading low.. I doubt it.... I have had my car on the dyno at PT many times and then run the car at fist on the same tunes (2 diferent tunes) the difference was 9rwkw and 5 rwkw :spit:

I rang PT to let them know of this thread and the car owner involved hadnt bothered to even let them know of the issue. If you want anything resolved go to them. Ranting on a forum to ppl with loyalties to other workshops will only bring flaming. Its pointless. Ive had a heap of work done by PT and if I have any issue at all, a quick call to them solves it. Yes there are issues with this car that the owner was told about prior to bringing the car there. that's for him and PT to sort out. Everyone else is just jumping on the bandwagon without the facts (some important ones seem to have been omitted)

Matt

We are really sorry to hear about your concerns with what has happened.

It was also good of you to raise your feelings on this forum rather than speak to us directly so we could help sought this issue out.

We at Power Torque Engines are always committed to achieving the best possible result for our customers and providing the best qulaity service we can. I think the positive feedback and support we have received from existing and hopefully future customers supports this.

We have absolutely no issue with refunding your money in full for the tuning aspect of the work. No questions asked.

If it was just a number you were chasing we could easlily continue winding more boost into the tune, however we prefer to use a more conservative figure in the name of engine longevity.

As mentioned, please come and collect your money at your ealiest convenience as we really don't want to be associated with this vehicle and some of the modifications you have performed.

ps: Bring your flash tuner in so we can load back in your standard tune.

Looking forward to your call.

I agree 100% about giving them a call and sorting out the issue

On a side note, some of the LS1 boys are saying that some of our "300rwkw" cars should have a run on the power torque dyno to see what they "really" make. Any qld volunteers?? I can think of a few, in particular a 350++ car that should go to the PT dyno day  :spoton:

As I said on the LS1 forum, with those mods, on dynos all over Australia, the general consensus is that cars will make 300rwkw. Whether some dynos say 290, 280, 310 or 320, the average dyno figure for the mods listed is around 300rwkw, low reading dyno or not.

I would be happy to throw mine up.

I'm assuming you're talking about CAT mods or are there other issues with this partuclar vehicle?

There is, IMO only, a shortage of good CAPA tuners in Brisbane at present and you guys have an opportunity to pick up a big chunk of the XR6T tuning market if you're interested in it. Are you interested, or is there too much work in the LS1 scene?

Regards,

Phil.

Hi Phil

We are definately aware of the tuner issue in Brisbane and we would love to take advantage of this opportunity and work with owners to further explore potential of these vehicles. There is definately results to be had when modified correctly and safely.

The vehicle mentioned had a number of issues, which unlike the owner, we would prefer not to publish on an internet forum. The catalytic converter was one but it was far from the major safety concern.

Oh Sh!t. I've caught Ian-itis.

ill get the money and run haha, drive down to nizpro or hpf and get urself a real tune or just wait for the wog to come to brissie, what ever u do the results will comffort you.

Not necessarily. I've got a tune that ain't quite right from one of the places you mention, and it's a bloody long way to go back and get it fixed. I've sent the box back for tweaks, but I think they really need the car there to get it right.

Tuner bashing seems to be a past-time for some on this forum. These guys should have been given the chance to sort out the problem before it became public IMHO.

u got a point if u have a problem then fix it through the tuner if they dont wonna fix it then get stuck into them for example ive got 287kwrw through nizpros dyno others with my mods are getting much more power than me like 310kwrw and so on should I get stuck into nizpro im happy with the car.
