with the price of premium fuel it gets to expensive to run the t all the time on premium.Does running regular unleaded damage the beast? Interesting to know how many others are running just regular these days? :blink:

I get beter milage out of the premium so the cost evens out. I only use premium 98.

pretty sure in the book it says to run atleast 95 octane doesn't it? I run premium all the time never put normal unleaded in it. if you dont wanna spend the extra few cents on getting premium maybe turbos arnt for u, get a V8 :P

when I'm low on funds I make sure to shop at safeway and get a 4c off voucher then use vortex 95 it isnt premium 98 but it isn't 91 octane plus is still seem to get around 450km's to a tank out of it for about 2c a litre more than 91 octane

but after filling up with vortex98 the otehr day and using the 4c off voucher I only saved $2 out of 50L so much of a muchness I guess haha

you can use 91 without damage to an unmodified T, as sly says though, you get better Distance from the 98 + 95.

all fuel sold in Aust should be 95 minimum.

I don't think you can get it anymore but that LRP sh1t blew more engines than anything. 98 with valve lube only for old cars that needed super...

Havent tried 91, but going from 98 to 95 I drop up to 50kms out of a tank (in my country/city driving mix). At least 5L to go 50km's, which mostly outweighs the additional cost of the 98.

Dunno what she'd do on 91, but just doing the 98 to 95 move shes noticeably less responsive on the throttle and just a whole lot smoother on 98. And shes stock as a rock.

If you own a Turbo I would not run 91 at ALL. Best you do some research on how this could do damage to your engine internals. I would think the engine would ping and rattle on 91 and I'm sure your manual says to only use 95 or 98 Ron.

If you engine has the Edit and you run 91 best you see how much is in your account and be prepared to fork out for a new engine and then you can use the piston that exits through the block as an ashtray. :fool:

you can run 91 in the T providing its stock, it only requires premo for "best results"

TL is correct, may as well run the premium for performance, you can run the 91 if you want to, without damaging your unmodified engine, (NB edit is a modification)

if you can't afford the fuel, buy an avalon. it's a turbo charged six cylinder 4 ltr engine, I mean really people, what were you expecting?

I found the T more than reasonable on fuel consumption for the performance and size of the vehicle.

if you can't afford the cost of petrol, how can you afford to run an XR6T?? What would be the difference between 91ron, and 98ron?? maybe 10c per litre at the most. So using say 60L, it would cost an extra $6??? that's hardly gonna break the bank? and if it is, then I suggest you sell the T.
