DougM Member 22 Member For: 18y 6m Posted 31/08/06 01:18 AM Share Posted 31/08/06 01:18 AM Hi guys.I went to Eastern creek last night for the first time and ran my BA xr6t auto. The only mods I have are the F6 CAI and a custom tune giving me 250 rwkw....My best time was a 13.44 at 170.4km/h. My 60' was 2.7....I was very happy with that as I've never been on a drag strip before....After chatting to some other XR6T owners there they said that with 250rwkw I should have been much faster than that....Would that be the case??? There were a few others in the high 12's claiming similar power and mods to mine...Anyway, I'm going to the C&V dyno day to compare my car to others....Cheers.Doug. How were your launches? Stalling up the auto?
DougM Member 22 Member For: 18y 6m Posted 31/08/06 01:42 AM Author Share Posted 31/08/06 01:42 AM Yes I was stalling it up and I was getting some wheelspin off the mark. Even when I dropped the tyre pressure down to 16psi.....I was just curious because another car in the high 12's had similar power but was much quicker. I have had success with about 24psi... got 2.1 60" in a manual. There are a few things you could look at though... how did the power feel? If it seemed lacking in top end you might have issues with valve springs. If it is surging you might have fuel supply issues... but judging by your 60' time I would say it's your take off. Warm the tyres a little bit before the line, give 24psi a go and see if it gets better. Still gotta be happy with a 13.4!! Your terminal speed is good so u will have a bit of headroom there. It was 2.17!!←I was about to say, your 60' time seemed a little too high. Now your ET seems a little too low. Practice may not be the problem since you could only really gain .2 - .4 with a better 60' time, which(IMHO) is already pretty good. However, you may just sneak in to the high 12 sec, with a better launch, although you may need MT to do it.
