(part of the reason why I use Nulon E20 additive - always will heh  :blink: ).

Whatever works for you (be interesting to pull down an engine that runs teflon-based products), but teflon (PFTE) is a solid, and IMHO has no place in the lubrication system of a car engine.

Nulon having saved the engine of at least one previous motor that I own (due sudden oil starvation) says different. Not to mention the car that Nulon drove from Syd to Melb with no oil whatsoever, only Nulon additive.

Cool, this is where the "whatever works for you" bit comes in.

You can't possibly be suggesting that Nulon PFTE additive would damage the engine?? Can you supply ANY evidence WHATSOEVER of an engine being worse off from using any Nulon product as intended?

Remember that the PFTE particles are micron and sub-micron size, and are designed to provide a friction barrier between the friction surfaces. At the absolute worst, it could raise the operating temp of the motor a couple of SFAs.

You'll have to do better than 'whatever works for you' and 'IMHO has no place...'.

OK then, I'd be delighted to to be proven wrong with your own hard evidence. Pics?

can anyone tell me if these are the correct parts I need for my BA XR6T.

Oil Filter =  Z516           Fuel Filter = Z373

The Ford part number for the BA XR6T oil filter is AFL 1 and for the shorter F6 filter AFL 101

My own opinion is just that - an opinion, everyone is entitled to one so no need to get all het up about it.

Hard evidence? Pics??? Of what, an engine with no damage from using Nulon? :blink:

They've been in business for over 20 something yrs, and have now moved into making full engine oil in their own right. Zero horror stories, in fact just the opposite (from personal experience).

Nulon is an insurance thing, offering better protection in specific areas (immediate startup & oil starvation). You dont need it, just like no one needs the best brakes and tyres money can buy. An engine treated well by its owner without using Nulon would probably look just as good as one that did use Nulon when pulled down after x number of kms. Too many variables at play.

It's a cheap engine protection measure, that has quite simply, worked for me in the past.

At the very best, it could save my engine and/or turbo if I suffer catastrophic oil failure under high power (ie at the drags etc). At the worst, it wont do a farking thing for me, as I use good oil, with regular changes anyway.

Agree to disagree then, to each his own etc etc.

For me, E20 provides 2 benefits:

1) Lubes the friction surfaces in those moments before the oil itself can, and

2) Protects the engine (and turbo bearings) in the even of oil starvation.

Well I wouldn't hold my breath about Nulon protecting your turbo if starved of oil :spoton:

PTFE is plastic, and like all plastics it melts, causing either distortion or complete breakdown of the spheres contained in the lubricant.

True. I'm thinking more of buying a couple micro seconds after things go bang whilst shutting the car down, rather than being able to survive without oil.

Melt point of PTFE °C >325.
