What would you guys use?1. Mobile 1 5W-502. Castrol Edge 10W-60 or3. Castrol Edge 0W-40?Please advise.←I went with Edge 0W-40 as I didn't want to go any thicker than a 40 in a stock motor. Some people will tell you a 0W is to thin but my theory is the thiner oil on start up gets the oil around the motor quicker before it warms up. Repeat, I have no socks.Edit: Having said that, I didn't change to full synth until the engine was fully run in (rings bedded etc).I changed to Mobil semi-synth at the 3,000km service, and full synth at 7,500 kms. By 7,500kms, the rings were well bedded given my run in procedure. Faarked if I know how to point you to the right post though.Scotty Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/28107-edge-0w40-or-10w60/page/3/#findComment-428176 Share on other sites

Mineral oil will help bed in your rings where as synthetic because its pure will not. I actually waited for 15000 before I went synthetic. Just throw in magnatec, its cheap and its great for new engines. igsta Member 371 Member For: 21y 6m 17d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 30/08/06 08:10 AM Share Posted 30/08/06 08:10 AM I wouldve thought 60 is too thick especially going through the turbo. I use the 0W-40. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/28107-edge-0w40-or-10w60/page/3/#findComment-428453 Share on other sites
