I was just wondering (seeing as I wish to keep my warrenty), what are my options to brighten up my cooler.

I know somebody that has sparyed the cooler silver.. but wouldnt this effect its heat disipation??

Has any body tried that?

Or would it be better to just get the paint taken off and anodized? (I duno wat material it is.. alum or mild steel)

I am guessing if I went this road it would be just as cheap to get a new cooler

p.s I have no idea if there are threads on this topic I browsed back only a little bit :happyfriends:

No painting it does NOT affect heat dissipation of the cooler. As far as surface area being painted you are probably only spraying 0.0001% of the overall effective surface area of the fins... the only problem with painting it is you will need to re-spray it a few times in it's lifetime... the paint chips off.

Buy a Typhoon :happyfriends:

Talk to your dealer if you are worried about warranty and price up the typhoon cooler or see if it's ok to get another bigger cooler off someone else without voiding your warranty.

I had a MONZA cooler and my ford dealer still gave me warranty, if your up front with them some times they let it slide, depends on the guy who serves you or the dealer.

And also because its a direct replacment so it not really modifying any thing ford has done same pipe's,brackets etc.

Have you ever priced up a typhoon intercooler from ford, that's if you can even get one  it would be cheaper to sell the car and buy a typhoon rather than try get a new phoon intercooler, and if the dealer wants to be tight they will still say you have modified the inlet, weather it be a ford product or not.

Get some Gel type paint stripper, get down on you hands and knees and start stripping. (the cooler that is) :gooff:

They come up a treat and the paint will never chip.

Plus the car will go faster!

Dude it aint hard or expensive just give your cooler a scrub then get a can of grease and wax remover spray and wipe, then shove a few old rags around it and get a can of sliver / chrome spray and press the button, it aint rocket science and comes up great for about 10 bucks. Though yeah the amount of bugs and crap you will now see acumulating on your new paint job, basically dont thow the can out half empty as you'll need to touch it up every 6mth or so.
