I started making this box on the 28th August 2004 and never got around to really finishing off the boot. It was sitting at this stage for a long time.

The sides of the box were rough, as it was just 50mm soft foam cut to shape and then some carpet placed over the top. It looked sorta okay...and did the trick, but I was never really happy with it.

So I made up some mdf side panels which were trimmed up and made the whole lot look 10X better. The right side trim panel looks like it's a different colour due to the grain of the carpet being the opposite direction to the rest of the panels in the boot :spoton:

Now that I vacuumed it all, it isn't as noticable. The flash really brought it out. The trim panel around the sub is painted silver with a red pearl, but my mate put in a little bit too much red pearl, and when the light is on it (again thanks to the flash) it goes that horrible brown colour. That will be getting sprayed in Lightning Strike soon.

And yesterday, I finally made the cover for the amps. I'm hiding the grille for the sub also under carpet which matches the rest of the boot, because the aim of this car from the start was one where I could open the boot anytime, anywhere, and not get unwanted attention.
